Mac: Back again I see. Did someone else get murdered or did you just miss me?
Player: a. (You lied) I found out you were lying to me and I want answers. b. (No bull) Stop bullshitting me Mac, I know you lied to me. I'm tired of playing games. c. (Sarcasm) Do you always assume people are coming to you about murders? d. (How are you?) Just wanted to see how you were doing.
Mac. a and b. I didn't lie so to say, I just left out certain elements of the truth. Big difference. c. Only you. d. Well, besides being out of a job and being stuck in this rundown town, I can't complain. *if Dos left* Now that Dos is gone I can finally have some peace and quiet. Don't tell him, but I'm still staying in his room, he will have quite the tab when he gets back. *if not* I just wish Dos would get off my back about getting a job...
Player: a. (The Blue Bandit) Why didn't you tell me that you and Circuit went behind Dee Dee's back and were working with the Blue Bandit? b. (EMP Rifle) I have evidence that you tampered with an EMP Rifle that injured Dee Dee Ar Ram.
Mac: a. Damn, you really have been snooping around, haven't you. I guess I might as well put all my cards on the table. I needed to create a diversion to get Dee Dee away from the base. The plan was to stir up trouble between Gammorin and the Blue Bandit. Those two are part of Dee Dee's plot to build a robot army without Reaver command back in Wichita finding out. If they were fighting each other instead of helping her, Dee Dee would have to step in.
Player: a. (Robot army?) b. (Circuit) What did Circuit have to do with all of this? c. (Distract Dee Dee) Why did you need to get Dee Dee away from the base? d. (Manipulating war?) You were trying to manipulate a war for your own personal gain? That's terrible!
Mac: a. Gammorin supplies the resources by mining the glowing sea and raiding anyone that has what he needs. The Blue Bandit takes those supplies and builds the robots, he is an expert programmer in case you didn't know. I don't know what Dee Dee wants with so many robots, but it is definitely not sanctioned by the Reavers. b. Circuit was going to meet with the Blue Bandit to plan a strategy to attack Gammorin's scouts. Somehow things got out of hand and the Blue Bandit decided he wanted to take the fight to Gammorin's front door. He's going to get himself killed. There is a certain item in Dee Dee's possession that is the key to me getting out of this hell hole and starting a new life. d. Gammorin is a super mutant slave driver who kidnaps people, turns them into mutants, and is building an army to take over the entire Commonwealth. Do I feel bad about manipulating people to fight him? Hell no! People should have been fighting him years ago.
Mac: b. Things weren't supposed to happen this way. Circuit was just a decoy, Dee Dee wasn't supposed to find out so soon and kill him. When I found out what she was planning I rigged her EMP Rifle to save Circuit. Obviously I didn't do a good enough job and Circuit is dead because of me. It's all my fault. Now I can't even return to the Reaver Church and get the holotapes of Dee Dee will kill me too.
Player: *Pick Replace* (But why?) What could be so important that it is worth going to all this trouble?
Mac: I didn't want any of this, this isn't the life I was supposed to live. I was a good Reaver. I always did what was expected of me. I didn't ask to be tossed out into this cruel, corrupt, and downright scary wasteland. I wasn't ready for what I found out here.
Player: a. (Your job) What was the job you were given? b. (What happened) What happened to you? c. (Rude) Lame excuses, everyone has problems, that doesn't give you the right to manipulate people.
Mac: a. I was just a simple nun for the Reavers before I was chosen to be a Missionary. I had never done anything crazy or had to face any danger. They threw me out into the wasteland unprepared for the horrors I would see, told me to spread the words of Prophet Cee Double Plus and the Reaver Movement? How was I supposed to do that? After the things I have seen I'm not even sure if I can believe in the teachings anymore, more or less teach them to others.
b. Dee Dee had me picking up 'packages' from her contact in the Institute. I would go to an unmarked location and retrieve these mysterious boxes for her. One time I was ambushed by a bunch of lowlifes. Who knows what they would have done to me if Leon hadn't still been around.
Player: a. (The Institute) What do you know about the Institute? b. (Leon) Who's Leon?
Mac: a. I've been there a few times, much nicer than out here in the wasteland. I dream of living there with Leon someday. b. His real name is L3-0N, but I call him Leon. He is an Institute Courser. He was watching to make sure the package was picked up when I got attacked. He saved my life... not just from those creeps, but he gave me purpose to live. I fell in love...
Player: a. (Love?) Coursers know how to love? b. (And then?) How did this cause you to betray the Reavers and wage war on an ancient super mutant warlord?
Mac: a. I don't know how synths work, but I have never felt anything more true than his love for me. b. After talking to him many more times, he eventually wanted to show me the Institute he was so proud of. We would sneak in at night, it was an incredible place. Someone however was watching Leon and knew he was secretly delivering packages to the surface. We were arrested by SRB and they threatened to kill me if I didn't tell them everything I knew.
Player: a. (Then what?) b. (Sounds rough) c. (Stupid move) You should have known better, the Institute is always watching.
Mac: I told them everything I knew about Dee Dee and the holotapes and the robot army. They wanted the software Dee Dee had, 36 holotapes holding the software of some ancient computer mainframe. They told me if I recovered it for them they would let Leon live. The only way for me to get to the software and save my love was to distract Dee Dee.
Player: a. (Reavers) So you would just betray the Reavers like that? b. (Dee Dee's plan) What is Dee Dee trying to do with the software? c. (Can I help?) Is there anything I can do to help you out? d. (Institute gone) What are you going to do now that the Institute is gone?
Mac: a. They are the ones that tossed me out into a dangerous world full of murderers, thieves, slave traders, and rapists. Leon saved my life and loved me. The Reaver Movement just used me like a tool and abandoned me. I don't feel bad about it one bit. b. I don't know for sure, but those packages I was retrieving for her contained high end Institute computer technology. I would guess she is trying to build a computer with enough memory to run the software. According to the specs it is far to large for any computer I have ever seen to run it. c. *If destroyed Institute* Well, unless you can go back in time and not blow up the Institute, I would say no. c. *If not* I can handle this myself, trusting other people hasn't exactly worked well for me up until now. d. There is nothing left in the Commonwealth for me. I figured once I get that valuable software I would sell it to the Brotherhood of Steel for passage to the Capital Wasteland and start a new life.
