-Unlocked soon after the player has talked to Hancock about being the Silver Shroud. You do not have to complete all of the Silver Shroud mission, as this can run parallel with the later quests in the story arch-
It was the kind of cold Boston night that would make a Protectron shiver or even the most hardened deathclaw cuddle together for warmth. The Shroud clutched his silver ascot tight around his neck to keep the cold out as he walked the desolate streets of what was once the bustling financial district of Boston. I guess even crime takes a night off when the weather turns.
'I wonder what the Mistress of Mystery is doing right now...'
the Shroud thought in the back of his mind as he gazed up at the stars shining bright as they peaked around a veil of thick clouds.
'Great Scott! Is that what I think it is?' Proclaimed the Shroud as a mysterious light appeared shining up into the night sky. 'It is! That's my sign, someone must be calling for the help of... the Silver Shroud!'
The iconic emblem of the Silver Shroud was clearly illuminated among the background of ominous clouds. It must be from some sort of powerful light source, but where? As he walked closer to the source of the signal it was apparent the message was being sent from the nearby town of Goodneighbor, the birthplace of the Shroud's hero persona and a place he often had to... take out the trash...
Goodneighbor was a town full of ghouls and other misfits, and it had a reputation for bringing in a less than desirable sort of crowd. It was the kind of place that gives you a constant itch to be looking over your shoulder. Everyone here has an agenda, and the best way to make it in a town like this is to stay off the radar and don't step on anyone's feet.
Justice, however, cannot be served while laying low, and the Shroud had made more than his fair share of enemies here. Who in a town like this would be seeking his help?
An old courthouse sits overlooking the main street, as if it were a stern parent looking over a child. It was on top of this building that the mysterious signal originated. The Shroud walked around back to a rickety old staircase, slowly making his way up to the building's roof. As he turned around the corner he could see the long cast shadow contrasting the illuminating glow of the spotlight, a man with one of those old fashioned tricorne hats that haven't been in fashion since the 1700s. There is only one man in this day and age extravagant enough to wear such a hat and build such a flashy signal, could this be John Hancock?

Hancock: Look who finally decided to show up.
Player: a. (What is this?) b. (Are you crazy?) What the hell are you doing? c. (Sarcasm) Why am I not surprised, now you're in the business of summoning super heroes from rooftops... d. (Perception) I see, you hooked up a logo to the front of this old spotlight to get a message across to me, clever. d. (Perception *fail*) I see, you are some kind of wizard.
Hancock: a and b. I was trying to get your attention. a, b, and c. It worked, didn't it? d. I knew you would get it. d. *fail* No... *facepalm*
Player: a. (Why?) So what's so important you needed to signal me? b. (Stupid) This is a big waste of time.
Hancock: b. Like I said, it worked, didn't it? If Shroud. I have an important mystery to solve and I need the Silver Shround on the case. Not Shroud. Actually, I was hoping for the Silver Shroud, but I guess you're the next best thing. I have a certain problem, a mystery of sorts. Companion Shroud. Actually, I was looking for your friend here, The Silver Shround, but you can help too if you want.
*Emma*: Who? me? Player: (Agility) Pay attention, Emma!
Hancock: Over the last few months, several of my caravans have gone missing, important shippments that keep me in business. On top of that we just disvocered an unidentified guest at the hotel dead in the middle of his room.
Player: *Interupt* (Agility) (Intelligence) So you are smelling some foul play and think the two are connected.
Hancock: (Agility) That was quick, I knew I chose you for a reason. (Intelligence) You're a smart one, exactly!
I think some sort of foul play is going on right under our noses and these are somehow connected.
Player: a. (Interested) So you want me to look into this for you? b. (Not interested) Sounds like you have your hands full then, good luck. c. (Sarcasm) What if I'm the villain responsible?
Hancock: a. I already have Nick Valentine on the case, but the people are getting spooked thinking it might be synths, and that is bad for business. With your reputation, having you on the case might calm some people down. b. So you don't want to help? c. Ha, then I want my shipments back. I couldn't care less about the dead guy if he did something to dissever it.
*Option a* Player: a. (Money) So, this is more about the money for you than the murder... why am I not surprised? Hancock: Maybe because I murdered someone without thinking twice within 15 seconds of meeting you? Player: That might be it... You're sharing in the profit, right? Hancock: Of course, of course.
b. (Caravan) So, what was this caravan carrying?
Hancock: Just your normal caravan stuff, some of this, some of that... you know...
Player: *replace pick* b. (Charisma) No, I don't know, you're holding out on me Hancock, I need the information.
Hancock: pass. Ok, ok, it was all high dollar mechanical equipment. A shipment of Mr. Handy parts from the Electrical Hobbyist Club to the General Atomics Galleria. Some more parts I ordered from a trader in DC, rare Protectron parts that never made it to Diamond City Security. Then there were a few shipments of high end weapons mods and ammunition that I was very looking forward to testing out.
c. (Murder) So what do you know about this murder?
Hancock: Other than he probably deserved it, not much. I just want to make sure this isn't going to interfere with my business.
d. (Done) Fair enough, I'll go see what I can dig up.
Hancock: What? No silly Silver Shroud voice this time? That was my favorite part...
Player: a. (No) *end conversation* b. (Speak as Shroud) Justice will be served or my name is not... The Silver Shroud! *Emma*: This sounds like a job for... The Silver Shroud! I will leave no rock un-turned, no clue un-examined! Justice will be served.
*Option b* Player: a. (I was joking) I'm just kidding, dude, you don't have to cry about it. I'll do it. b. (Money) *charisma* I guess that depends on what the pay is. c. (Busy) I'm too busy at the moment. d. (Rude) I should throw you off the top of this building for wasting my time with your silly games.
Hancock: a. *Go to Option a* b. Sure, sure, I'll give you 500 caps for the murder and 1,000 caps for the caravans. c and d. Fair enough, you know where to find me if you change your mind.

Hancock was an eccentric fellow at times, but when it came to business this ghoul didn't play around. This must be serious, the Shroud thought to himself. He walked across the poorly lit main street, a very short journey from the old courthouse to the hotel.
Once a place of luxury reserved for societies elite, the Hotel Rexford was far past its prime and now mimicked the dark and dirty city around it. The only reputation this place had left was for housing drug dealers and criminal trigger men. The Shroud was not a popular figure among these crowds and never knew what kind of danger to expect at a place like this.
As he walked through the heavy double doors the pungent smell of cigars and stale beer hit him as if it were a solid wall. The lobby was as dusty and dirty as the outside, poorly lit, and the perfect place for someone content with wallowing in their own pity and defeat. This time however, a group was gathered near the stairwell causing quite the commotion.
'The people dissever to know the truth!' shouted a familiar voice of a nosy reporter with long black hair and a red trench coat. This was Piper Wright, and no stranger to the Silver Shroud. Her instinct on finding the real story brought her into the path of the Shroud more times than he could keep track of. He was beginning to wonder if she was looking for more out of him than just a news story, but that could wait. For now his attention must stay on the mystery at hand.
'Everybody out!' yelled the raspy voice of an angry lady. This was Clair Hutchins, the manager of Hotel Rexford. 'If you are not paying for a room get out of my hotel!' Dejected, the crowd began to shuffle toward the door. 'No, not you! You're the guy Hancock sent over, right? What are you waiting for, the body is upstairs.'
Choosing to ignore the disrespectful tone Clair had given him, the Shroud turned toward the stairway.
Piper: *if Shroud* Mr. Shroud! Mr. Shroud! *not Shroud* Blue! Blue! It's me, Piper! Are you investigating the murder? are you also aware of the synths stealing from caravans in the area and the connection? Can I get a quote for...
Clair: Out!
Player: a. (Not yet) I just started working on the case, maybe when I know more. b. (I'm busy) Not right now, Piper. c. (Sarcasm) The synths are coming for us all! You better hide! d. (Come along) Piper is with me on the investigation
Clair: Fine, whatever, just take care of this mess as soon as possible so I can get back to business. Dead bodies don't pay their hotel bills.
As they walked up the stairway, Piper was almost giddy with anticipation, just waiting to pounce with another question. The Shroud simply put two fingers to his mouth in a shushing motion. Piper took the signal and didn't say a word as the excitement bottled up.

Nick: *if Shroud* Well, if it isn't the Silver Shroud, here to help me with Goodneighbor's most difficult case. *not Shroud* Ah, everyone's favorite vault dweller, what a pleasant surprise. Did you come to help me out? and our favorite reporter, Ms. Piper Wright, must be my lucky day.
Piper: Hello Nick.
*Emma*: Always here to help Mr. Detective! Nick: Just Nick is fine.
Player: a. (Investigation) So, what have you found so far? b. (Sarcasm) Nah, I'm just here to watch you do all the hard work. c. (Speak as Shroud) I am always near when crime is... uhh... here! d. (Wrong room) Sorry, wrong room, I was looking for the 'other' dead body.
Nick: b. Ha, funny, anyways... c. You don't actually have to do the voice... d. Get back here, don't leave me all the hard work. Anyways... all. Our victim looks to be a male, mid 20s and has numerous bruises and cuts all over his body.
(Perception) *Interrupt* Looks like bruises from a bare fist, and based on some of those angles it looks like he was kicked while he was down.
Nick: Good eye, I guess that rules out looking for a murder weapon.
Nick: Now, when you first look at his clothes, they seem perfectly normal, but if you look underneath he is completely wrapped in what looks to be
(Intelligence) *Interrupt* Some sort of ballistic mesh weaved into the fabric that is wrapped around critical areas for protection.
Nick: I was going to say he was all wrapped up like a mummy, but let's go with your answer.
Nick: Some sort of mummy wrappings all around his body.
Player: a. (Unusual) That's not something you see everyday. b. (Beat up here?) So, do you think he was beat to death in this very hotel room? c. (Go on) So, what else? d. (*Reavers*) That's what members of the Reaver Movement wear.
Nick: a. He was no ordinary traveler. b. do you see any blood or sign of struggle? It would take a very clean perpetrator to leave the scene like this after a bloody fist fight.
Piper: And it is obvious this room hasn't been cleaned in half a decade.
Nick: So he must have been left here.
(Medic) *Interrupt* Based on those wounds, he had to have been alive a long time after the initial trauma.
Piper: Hancock was right for sending you. Nick: Good catch.
d. Hmmm... that is an interesting turn of events if Reavers are involved. I haven't had any first hand contact, but I hear they are a dangerous bunch to mess with. If you know any Reavers you might want to ask around.
c. So anyways, I think the next step is to see how long this guy has been in Goodneighbor. How about you do down and talk to the manager while Piper and I continue looking for clues.
'It is nice to have friends like this you can count on' the Shroud thought as he walked back down the stairs to find the ever more irritated Clair.
Clair: What is it this time?
Player: a. (Length of stay?) So, how long was our mystery guest here before his untimely death? b. (Guest interaction) Have you seen the victim interact with any of the other guests? c. (Never mind) I can see you are busy. d. (Sarcasm) I just wanted to thank you for your lovely hospitality.
Clair: a. He payed up for 3 weeks when he first came here. that was 3 weeks ago. I went upstairs to tell him to pay up or get out, that's when I found him dead. b. What do I look like a bartender? It isn't my job to watch who my guests talk to... But come to think of it, he did ask me where the bar was... He said he needed to meet someone at the Third Rail. Go ask the people there, they love to gossip. c and d. Whatever.

The Shroud walked back out the door into the dark alley. It was the middle of the night, but in a town like this, bars never sleep and are always an ample supply of information. Across the way from the old hotel there was a simple unassuming door with a simple unassuming sign. This was the Third Rail, the pride of Goodneighbor.
Stepping inside the Shroud could feel the energy change. 'We're not expecting any trouble today, are we Shroud?'
A large Ghoul stood at the entrance, black fedora pulled down over his eyes and a nicely tailored tuxedo, not something you see often in the wasteland. But don't let the nice clothes full you, this ghoul was more than ready for a fight if anyone came into the Third Rail looking to cause trouble.
'Just here to ask some questions.' The ghoul just nodded as the Shroud continued on down the staircase to the basement. The soulful song of the bars prized entertainer filled the room drowning out the mumbles of the crowd. Marigold wore a bright red dress that seemed to both incredibly out of place and incredibly perfect in contrast to the dark and moody environment.
The Shroud walked directly up to the bar, where Whitechapel Charlie, a robot of the Mr. Handy variety, was happily selling drinks to customers. If anyone in this place had information, he was the place to start. Player: a. (Murder Victim) I assume you are aware of the murder that happened across the street, have you ever seen him at the Third Rail? b. (Aggressive) I want information and I want it now. Have you seen any unusual guests here lately? c. (Speak as Shroud) I have come to right the wrong of the tragedy that has come upon your fair town. Have you seen any unusual suspect in you fair establishment recently?Charlie: a. Why yes, I have seen him in here before... buying drinks! Because this is a bar. b and c. This is a bar... we sell drinks... The Shroud could take a hint, if he wanted information from this robot he was going to have to buy a drink first.Player: a. (Purified Water) b. (Beer) c. (Scotch)Charlie:a. Still on the job I see. b. Coming right up. c. Good choice sir. So there was this strange fellow by the name of Circuit who has been hanging around here the past month. I haven't seen him in about a week however, so he may very well be your victim. Mid 20s, dark brown hair, about 5 foot 10... weird mummy wrapping on his arms. Player: a. (That's him) Sounds like our victim b. (Meeting anyone) Ever seen him meet anyone? c. (Unusual behavior?) Anything weird about the way he acted?Charlie:a. Sucks to be him I guess, anything else? b. There was this lady, what you humans would call quite beautiful, what us robots would call trouble. I guess it is all relative to which head you are thinking with. There was quite a big fight between the two of them. Player: a. (Over what?) b. (Where is she?) Do you know where she went? c. (Name) Did you catch her name?Charlie:a. It sounded like something to do with money, but I wasn't really listening. b. She stormed out saying something about returning to Diamond City. He yelled back something about returning to her doormat ex. c. Nope, but if you ask around I'm sure someone here did. c. He was a shady fellow, always looked like he was up to no good... so no, nothing different from the rest of our fair patrons. The shroud finished his scotch and thanked the bartender. It was now time to see if anyone around the bar knew anything of this 'Circuit' fellow and his mysterious dame. Player: Have you met a guy named circuit or the girl he was with?Customer: Nope, never heard of him Customer: No, stop bothering me Customer: That guy was a jerk, I told Mac she disserved much better than him. Player: Mac was the girl he was with?Customer: Yes, she was a doll, a face like and angel. I tried to get her to leave that shmuck and come home with me, but she shot me down. Customer: I remember him and this girl named Mac. They were arguing about someone named Dee Dee. With a girl like that though, I'm not sure why Circuit thought he needed a girl on the side.

The Green Jewel of the Commonwealth, as some called it, Diamond City was a stark contrast from the gritty streets of Goodneighbor. The Shroud could safely walk the streets of this 'city within a stadium' without worrying about the dangers lurking in the shadows. Clothing, weapons, pre-war collectables, and even haircuts were widely available in this bustling town square. Player: Have you seen a lady named Mac around?
Resident: Nope Resident: I think so, not sure if she is still around. Security Guard: I tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't give me the time of day. She was so beautiful though. Resident: Never heard of her. Resident: I'm pretty sure she is over at the Dugout. Resident: I saw here with some cowboy fellow heading over to the Dugout, he didn't look happy to see her. After making his rounds, it looked like everything pointed to the Dugout. Not a surprise really, the Dugout was the only place in Diamond City to get a place to stay or a stiff drink.
As he scanned the room, looking through the crowd of Diamond City locals and your typical wasteland travelers and traders, one figure at the end of the bar stood out to him. Long strawberry blonde hair cascading in waves down her back, bright red lipstick contrasting the icy gaze of her cold blue eyes, and that dress... an elegant black silk hugging every curve and accentuating her natural figure. This girl was definitely a sight, there was no doubt in his mind, this was the Mac he was looking for. But how did a girl like this get mixed up in such a situation?

Player: a. (Have you seen?) I'm looking for a lady named Mac. b. (Intelligence) You must be Mac, I presume. c. (Lady Killer) So, do you always drink by yourself? Mac was the name, right?
Mac: a. Well, you found her, buddy. What is it you wanted? b. Then you presume correctly, was there something that you wanted? c. I was just waiting for you to come along and buy me a drink, now where do I know you from again?
*option c* Player: a. (Buy Drink) Hey barkeep, can I get another drink for the lady? b. (Perception) Looks like you already have one. c. (Questions) I have a few questions for you.
Mac: a. Why thank you. b. Oh, silly me, I must have been distracted by those eyes of yours. c. Oh... sounds boring.
Player: a.(Goodneighbor) Have you by any chance been to Goodneighbor recently? b.(Circuit) Do you know a man by the name of Circuit? c.(No small talk) I will cut to the chase, these has been a murder and I need some information from you.
Mac: a. I might have been there a few weeks back, I stop by there from time to time. Why do you ask? b. I see the guy around, he sometimes mistakenly thinks I am his girl, silly man.
Player: *Replace Pick* a. (Anything happen?) Did anything out of the ordinary happen the last time you were there? b. (You aren't?) So you aren't his girlfriend then?
Mac: a. No, nothing I can think of. Maybe you should come with me next time and we can make something interesting happen. b. Did somebody lead you to believe he was, or are you just trying to see if I am single so you can hit on me.
*Option a* Player: a. (Argument) So you didn't have any sort of loud arguments in the Third Rail before leaving? b. (A habit?) Do you make it a habit to 'make something interesting happen' every time you travel? c. (Charisma) You are a real troublemaker, aren't you?
Mac: a. Are you implying something? b. Only when I'm traveling with someone worth making trouble with. Are you worth making trouble with? c. That depends, are you worth making trouble with?
Player: *Replace Pick* a. (Romantic Charisma) Why don't we go find out.
Mac: pass. My room is right this way. fail. Maybe later big guy.
*Option B* Player: a. (Goodneighbor) Did you see him last time you were in Goodneighbor? b. (Are you) Well, are you? c. (Romantic Charisma) It's ok, go ahead.
Mac: a. Why do you ask? b. Are you man enough for a woman like me? c. Go ahead with what?
Player: *Replace Pick* b. (Romantic Charisma) Why don't we go find out. c. (Romantic Charisma) You keep giving me those eyes like you want to kiss me. Go ahead.
Mac: pass. My room is right this way. fail. Maybe later big guy.
The more the Shroud tried to push for information, the more she pushed back with flirting. He could tell she was trying to avoid the subject, hiding something from him. He decided it was time to go a bit more direct.
Mac: c. A murder? I'm not sure what a simple little girl like me could know about that.
Player: a. (Sorry to tell you) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit was killed in Goodneighbor, I'm looking for information on the murder. b. (Circuit) We found Circuit murdered in his room at Hotel Rexford. c. (Aggressive) I know you were seen arguing with Circuit not long before he was murdered, what do you know?
Mac: Oh... that's so sad. He was a nice guy.
Player: *Pick Multiple* a.(Third rail) So what were you and Circuit arguing about at the Third Rail? b.(Enemies) Did Circuit have any enemies you knew about. c.(About Circuit?) Can you give me any information about Circuit's personal life or where he lived? d.(Where were you?) So where were you last week, how do I know you didn't kill him?
Mac: a. Oh, you heard about that... I've been having issues with my employer lately, so I was asking him to borrow some caps... I still hadn't paid him back from the last time I borrowed money from him. I kept it quiet from our employer that he was fighting at Combat Zone to make some extra money. I figured the least he could do is share some of his winnings with little ol me.
Player: *option a* a. (Dee Dee) People also heard you yelling about someone named Dee Dee. b. (Reaver) *if you know Reavers* So, you are a Reaver as well then?
Mac: a. That's Circuit's boss, I would stay away from her if I were you, she is dangerous. b. Wait... how do you know about that? I was... a Reaver... Now I'm unemployed.
Mac: b. He was talking about having trouble with this guy called 'The Mechanist' but I'm not really sure what all that was about. Maybe ask Hancock if he knows anything. c. Circuit was a missionary for the Reaver Movement, not a very good one however. Maybe someone at the Reaver Church knows him. d. I was right here in Diamond City staying with my ex-boyfriend because I had nowhere else to go.
Player: *Pick Replace* d. (Alibi) Can he vouch for the fact that you were nowhere near Goodneighbor when Circuit was murdered?
Mac: Yes, his name is Dos. He is around town somewhere, probably wearing a stupid cowboy hat and a trench coat.
Player: That's all for now, but don't leave town. I may have more questions for you.

So at this point the Shroud has several options to choose from.
- Head over to the Combat Zone and look for clues
- Ask Hancock about the Mechanist
- Ask people at the Reaver Church about Circuit. You may not have been there yet, but luckily Dos in the next option can show you.
- Confirm Mac's alibi with her ex-boyfriend Dos.
But for now, The Silver Shroud is going to look for Dos, since it is the closest objective to his current location.
So, now we are getting to a point where two paths are overlapping, and as a companion character, Dos has dialogue that falls outside of the mystery that the Shroud is currently trying to solve. Anything pertaining to the letter is only available after you have retrieved the letter in Chapter A of the plot, the same goes for anything referring to the armor that you are looking for.
If you have taken the Silver Shroud path, this will not be available for you to ask about.
If you did pick the Combat Zone path, you will find a particularly nerdy Raider at the Combat Zone. He is not hostile and will be there even after you have shot up the place.Leadfoot: Did you come to place a bet? Oh... wait... all the fighters are dead...Player: a. (Who are you?) b. (Circuit) I was wondering if you had seen a guy named Circuit around here. c. (Trade)Leadfoot:a. I'm Leadfoot, I specialize in sports analytic. I manage the betting on the fights.b. He used to be a regular around here until they realized he was part robot. We don't take kindly to those kind of folks around here. They beat him half to death and then tossed him to the curb, didn't even give him time to clear out his locker. Player: *pick replace*b. (Locker) Can I see his locker?Leadfoot:b. Sure, nothing valuable left however. It is the one right over there. Once checking the locker you find a note that says...
I will be at the Third Rail after 8:00pm every night this week. Meet me there if you want to further discuss working with the Mechanist. -Seymore-
This will send the player to the meeting with Seymore further down this page. Here

Now that lady was certainly a character, the Shroud thought to himself. She didn't give off the vibe of a cold blooded killer,r but she was definitely hiding something. The more questions he asks, the more she flirted back to try to avoid answering. It would be a good idea to check with ex-boyfriend of hers and see what he had to say.
He wasn't hard to find, long brown trench coat with more than an abundance of ammo belts draped across him. He wore a cowboy hat that sat on top of his auburn mullet, his scruffy beard made it apparent he hadn't shaved in a while.
A1.
Dos: Hello, have you come seeking advice on the Seven Windows of Heaven?
Player: *Pick Multiple* a. (Dos' Letter) Are you Dos? If so I have a letter for you. b. (I'm looking for Reavers) c. (I thought there were 8...)
d. (Mac) So, do you know this girl Mac?
Dos: a. That is what they call me. A letter for me?... Oh, it looks like it is from my ex-girlfriend that disapeared on me. Thanks for taking the time to deliver this.
Player: *Option a* a. (You don't seem upset) I would be upset if my girlfriend left me.
Dos: *Option a* a. In all honesty, I only started seeing her as a 'pity date'... She was a nice girl and all, I didn't want to break her heart, so I just kept letting her think we were a couple.
Player: *Option a* a. (No attraction?) You didn't feel any attraction toward her?
Dos: *Option a* a. I felt no flame when I kissed her, she was nice, but that was it. I'm glad she found something she is passionate about and is pursuing it. She was kindof needy and it wasn't good for her growth as a person or a servant of the Great Mainframe.
b. Well, you found one Reaver, how many more are you looking for?
c. Blasphemy! Only heretics and televangelists would teach such a message. The 8th window in incompatible with the core teachings of the Reaver Movement.
Player: *Option c* c. (Compatibility Mode?) Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode, or maybe running as an administrator?
Dos: *Option c* c. I have not heard of these teachings, we should talk more about this theory of running our faith in Compatibility Mode later on, I am sure it would be an enlightening conversation.
d. Yes, we were a couple once, now she is more just a thorn in my side. She is staying with my at the Dugout because she refuses to go back to the Reaver Church... I don't get that girl.
d. *if letter* She is my ex-girlfriend... No the one from the letter, another one of my ex-girlfriends... I don't exactly pick them well, do I?
*Option b*
Player: *Pick Multiple* a. (Take me to your leader) I have important business to discuss with whoever is in charge. b. (I'm looking for an armor) Have you seen a power armor that once belonged to the rebel faction of the Brotherhood of Steel? c. (How many are there?) I guess that depends on how many Reavers there are. d. (Circuit) Have you ever met a guy named Circuit?
Dos: *Option a* a. I don't know if that would be a good idea, she isn't in the best of moods right now. What did you need?
Player: *Option a* a. (Bad mood?) What is she in a bad mood about?
Dos: *Option a* a. Well, she is having problems with her implants... of the cyborg type, not the other type... and nobody we have at base knows how to fix them. Then on top of that, the generator back at base keeps acting up and randomly shutting off.
Player: *Option a* a. (I can help)
Dos: *Option a* a. Hmmm... you seem like a resourceful guy, I guess if you are good with machines I could let you try to help. a. (female) Hmmm... What's the worst a cute girl like you could do? I guess I can let you try. both. Just tell me when you are ready to go.
Player: *Option a* a. (I'm ready) Ok, lets go. *Dos joins you and you receive the navpoint for Reaver Base*
b. I remember an armor like that being kept in the holy sacristy. It is supposed to have special powers to bring man and computer together into a state of mechanical enlightenment. The bottom level of our church however is not accessible at the moment because of the rat problem?
Player: *Option b* b. (Rat problem?) Doesn't seem like a very big deal.
Dos: *Option b* b. Well... these are 5 foot tall cyborg labrats that can discharge enough electricity to fry your brain.
c. There are about 50 of us stationed around the Commonwealth.
Player: c. (That's a lot) Yeah... that's more than I need, can I just talk to your leader *Go to A*
d. Yes, I know Circuit, he is one of the Reaver Missionaries like myself, have you run across his path?
Player: *option d* a. (Murdered) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit has been murdered while in Goodneighbor. b. (Enemies) Do you know of any enemies that Circuit had? c. (Reaver home) So do you think it would be possible for me to talk to some of the other Reavers to get some clues on this case?
Dos: a. That's horrible news, but I honestly can't say I am overly surprised. b. He got mixed up with all kinds of wrong crowds, raider fighting dens, supermutants, chem dealers, and that one guy called The Mechanist. c. I guess I can take you there and we can ask around, I was heading back there anyways myself. Player: What about Mac? Dos: Mac... She can just deal with it, I'm sick of dealing with her drama, I need a road trip.
*Option D*
Player: a. (Reaver?) Wait, she didn't say she was a Reaver to. b. (Alibi) So she was in Diamond City the whole week? c. (What happened) What happened between you two.
Dos: a. Let me guess, she led you to believe she wasn't... Typical Mac, always misleading people, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes I wonder what went so wrong with her. b. She was here the entire week. c. That is a long story. We have been on again and off again for years, but I finally got sick of it and started seeing a new girl. I am too sober to go over the whole story, maybe sometime when I have a cold beer in my hands I will tell you the whole story.

Heading to the Reaver Church seemed like the next logical step, but before leaving Diamond City, the Shroud first wanted to see if Piper and Nick had found anything at General Atomics Galleria. He headed down the back alley that held Valentine's Detective Agency and stepped inside the door.
Nick: if Shroud. Well if it isn't the Silver Shroud not Shroud. Glad you made it back
Player: a. (Any luck?) Did you find anything useful? b. (I found) I found out some interesting things if you are interested. c. (Sarcasm) So I assume you have solved the case by now, right?
Nick: a. Yes and no... We talked to the robots at General Atomics Galleria and they were convinces some guy called 'The Mechanist' was sneaking in during the night and kidnapping robots for his evil army. They are quite spooked, already have 3 missing robots. However, investigating the caravan reveiled something very contradictory to that story. We found he missing caravan, but it appears to have been attacked by supermutants.
Player: a. (Intelligence) But supermutants never take technology when they attack. b. (Mechanist?) This isn't the first time I have heard the name Mechanist... c. (Circuit) So no trace of Circuit being there?
Nick: *option a* a. Exactly what I was thinking. b. Seems like something we should look more into. I will ask around and go through some of my old files to see if I can pull up any relavent info. c. Nope, nothing at all.
Nick: b. I'm all ears.
Player: a. (Mac) Mac has an alini and couldn't have killed Circuit, though I still feel she is hiding something. b. (Dos) I also found a Reaver named Dos that agreed to take me to their base. c. (Reaver) Circuit was a missionary for the Reaver Movement.
Nick: a. Well, that rules out one suspect. b. Sounds like a good place to check out, but watch your back, that isn't a safe bunch to hang around c. I've heard those guys are a dangerous bunch, be careful.
Nick: c. You wish... For every answer I get, there are two more questions to chase down.

The Shroud left Nick to go about his business and headed for the town gate where Dos was patiently waiting.Dos: You ready to head on out? Player: a. (Sure) Let's go b. (Not yet) The Shrod and his new traveling companion Dos headed north from Diamond City, across the river where a boat had crashed into the bridge, and up into a much more forested area. This was taking quite a while, so the Shroud decided he should ask if they were almost there.
A2.Player: (Are we there yet?)Dos: No Player: a. (How about now?) b. (How much further?)Dos:a. No *loops*b. *armor quest* Impatient much? Why are you so eager to find this armor anyways? c. *murder mystery* Impatient much? What are you so eager to solve this murder anyways?
*Option b*
Player: *armor quest* a. (It's for a girl) A girl I know wants it back. b. (It is rare) It is worth a lot of money. c. (Mind your own business) I don't want to talk about it.
Dos: a. Ahhh... I see, she must be pretty special for you to go through this much trouble.
Player: *Option a* a. (She is) b. (I like her sister) c. (She's kindof a bitch) d. (Just a friend)
Dos: *Option a* a. I got'cha dude. If I had a nickle for every crazy thing I did for a girl... Well, I would have about seven nickles...
b. Oh, trying to impress her by helping out her sister? I did that once but it backfired and I ended up being chased by an angry Deathclaw... Long story...
c. Hmmm... Well, suit yourself... I always say, there are too many nice ladies out there to get hung up on the mean ones.
d. If that's the case, you should introduce her to your good buddy Dos. My girlfriend left me, remember?
b. Sounds interesting, are you a collector of rare technology too? The Reaver Movement is all about stuff like that, it pleases the gods. "He who repents his sins and dedicates his time to the refurbishment of the holy merchandise shall be rewarded by the great mainframe.
c. Fine, I was just trying to make small talk.
*Option C*
Player: *Murder Mystery* a. (Justice) For justice. b. (Caravans) He might be behind the disappearance of several caravans. c. (Speak as Shroud) For justice!
Dos: a. Sounds like you are a good man b. That sounds interesting, anything in particular gone missing? c. Ha ha, I like the voice
Player: *Option b* a. (Not really) b. (Machine parts) A bunch of weapon mods and pieces for robots. c. (Sarcasm) Well, one of them held the ark of the covenant.
Dos: a. Well, good luck with that. b. There have been rumors going round about a guy called The Mechanist. He goes around and steals technology from people in order to build his robot army that will someday take over the world. I always figured it was just some offshoot of the Institute rumors you always hear. c. Never heard of that, sounds like something one of those religious people would look for. *End Conversation*
The two chatted as they made their way to what would look like a totally normal pre-war church, had it not been covered by half a dozen armed guards and machine gun turrets.
'Is that a missile launching turret?' The Shroud wanted to ask, but decided to keep his mouth shut. As they approached the gate, Dos stopped the Shroud to give him a few tips on how to deal with the Reavers.A3. *When you reach the Reaver Base*Dos: Ok, this is the place. I must warn you, most Reavers are not as trusting of outsiders as I. You might want to tread lightly and not make any sudden movements. Player: *Pick Multiple*a. (Is this dangerous?)b. (Why so paranoid)c. (You trust me?)Dos: a. I thought that was a given when you asked me to take you to an armed military base... b.In the early days our leaders made a lot of mistakes and were a bit too 'forceful' about taking the technology they wanted... And by 'forceful' I mean chopping peoples heads off and burning villages. We have a lot of enemies, so it is best to remain cautious. Player: *Option b*b. (No more killing?)Dos: *Option b*b. Oh, they still kill people from time to time, just not so eagerly anymore. The Bishop can be a bit 'aggressive' at times, occasionally to the extent of offending a large portion of the Movement. c. Even though I believe in the Great Mainframe in the sky and walk the path of windows doesn't mean I don't use my own judgment to make logical decisions. The Great Mainframe would not have installed the drivers of logic in my brain if he didn't want me to use it. Player: a. (Your leader?) So what is the deal with your leader? b. (What is this place?)Dos:a. The Bishop can be a bit... well... fanatical at times. Some say it is because of her cybernetic implants failing, but I think she is just a bit crazy in the head. But if you want to get anything out of the Reavers, you better learn to deal with her first. Player: *Option a*a. (Where is she?) Where can I find this Bishop at?b. This is our church, which also happens to be a heavily armed military base. This is where all the holy artifacts are held, so security is a top priority.

Once inside the gates the Shroud could see a whole town with shops, farming, houses, and even a school.
Player: Do you know a guy named Circuit?
Reaver: No
Reaver: The name sounds familiar, but I can't remember.
Reaver: I don't know him well, he keeps to himself.
Reaver: He is always out in the wasteland on missions, maybe you should ask the Commander.
Reaver Child: Your clothes are funny.
Reaver: He's a jerk, stay away from him if you know what is good for you.
Reaver: Ask the Commander if you have any questions, I'm busy.
The Shroud decided it would be best to find this Commander and see if he had any answers. One of the Reavers pointed him to a tall muscular character with a military hat and what looked to be burn scars across the left side of his face.

Commander: You're not one of my soldiers, what are you doing inside my military camp?
Dos: I brought him here, sir, I can vouch that he is trustworthy. He just had some questions.
Commander: Very well, but there people are your responsibility, keep an eye on them.
Player: a. (Military Camp?) I thought this was the reaver Church, not a military camp. b. (Your in charge?) So are you the one in charge around here? c. (Nice place) Nice place you have here.
Commander: a. Military camp, church, there isn't really much difference to a Reaver. b. The Cardinal is in charge of this post and only answers to HQ back in Kansas. He is currently meeting with another Cardinal down south. Next in the chain of command would be Dee Dee Ar Ram, who is head of Engineering. I am in charge of the soldiers and with Dee Dee having health complications I am temporarily in charge and have to clean up her messes. c. We do our best.
Player: a. (Dee Dee) What is wrong with Dee Dee? b. (Mess?) What messes are you dealing with? c. (Mission?) What are the Reavers doing out here in Boston?
Commander: a. Most of us Reavers have cybernetic implants to bring us closer to compatibility with the great mainframe in the sky, as well as enhance out physical abilities. However, complications can arise from said implants. With Dee Dee's particular issue, nobody around here has the know how with computer processors to fix it... sigh...
Player: a. (I know someone) I know someone who can fix anything, would you like me to ask her for help?
Commander: Couldn't hurt to try, Dee Dee left quite a mess here, so getting her back would be a weight off my shoulders.
b. Dee Dee is in charge of engineering, she takes all the holy artifacts we discover and blesses them to work for our needs. The generator that runs this entire 'church' is housed inside her lab. Well.. in case you haven't noticed, none of the power is working at the moment. The only way into the lab is with voice recognition from Dee Dee, so until she is conscious again, we are without power. On top of that, I have a handful of missing people I need to go find, but I am stuck here doing Dee Dee's job...
Player: b. (Who's missing?)
Commander: Well, there is... - That crazy cowboy Dos - Dee Dee's right hand an, Circuit - One of our best missionaries, Mac - A clumsy recruit named Alt Everyone else has been accounted for.
Player: a. (Dos) he just forgot to turn his radio on, he is fine. b. (Circuit) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit was found dead in Goodneighbor. c. (Mac) Mac is safe in Diamond City dealing with 'personal' issues, I'm sure she will be back when she is ready. d. (Alt) He should be back any time now, I saw him collecting tech not too long ago.
Commander: a. Typical b. I can't say I'm surprised, that guy was always trouble. Dee Dee will be upset when she hears of this, he was her trusted errand boy. c. Humph... Women... I'm sure she has her reasons though, she was always such a good Reaver. Thanks for the info. d. Someone is getting latrine duty for not taking deadlines seriously. As the great prophet said, 'make haste in your processes, for the great mainframe will reward those that walk the path of overclocking.'
c. We are here to collect holy technology, in particular, free the hold relics from the hands of the infidels known as the Institute.
Player: a. (Circuit) Can you tell me anything else about Circuit, what kind of mission was he on? b. (Power Armor) I came here looking for a suit of power armor that belonged to a Brotherhood Paladin.
Commander: a. I didn't trust the guy, he was a very shady character. Dee Dee however pushed to have him promoted against my recommendations and he has been her errand boy ever since. I don't know what kind of work he was doing for her honestly.
b. Power Armor? Reavers don't use those slow piles of junk, we fight with speed, precision, and stealth. Anything like that would be stored away in Dee Dee's library... Which only Dee Dee has access to.
That was all the information the Shroud was going to be getting here. This Dee Dee character seemed to be an important piece of this puzzle however. Luckily the Shroud knew someone who could fix pretty much anything she got her hands on, cybernetics should be simple enough for a girl like her.
He thanked Dos for his assistance and started back towards Goodneighbor.

Down the street from Goodneighbor about half a block stood what was once the home of Boston's premier newspaper, the Boston Bugle. The new inhabitants of this building were good friends of the Silver Shroud.
On the outside there was nothing that told you this building was inhabited, this was by design as to not draw any unnecessary attention. However, once inside the lobby of this building there were enough barricades and turrets to defend a castle, all guarding the path to a little elevator door.
A large robot walked the lobby. It stood on four legs taller than the Shroud and had at least half a dozen guns across its head and shoulders. This was Pace. Not the smartest of robots, about the equivalent of a dog, but great for guarding an area you don't want intruders in. Pace ran up to the Shroud in excitement, they had met many times before. Pace was always happy to see a friendly face.
'Good boy', the Shroud patted Pace on the head and then moved on to the elevator where he pushed the button on a small speaker panel.
He was greeted by the agitated voice of a whiny teenage girl he had come to know.Kaylee: Who is it and what do you want? Player: a. (Be nice) Be nice Kaylee, it's only me. b. (Emma) Just let me talk to Emma. c. (Speak as Shroud) It is I, the Silver Shroud d. (Sarcasm) I was looking to borrow some manners, but it appears you are all out.Kaylee: Whatever... Hey, Emma! Your Silver Shroud friend is here to see you. Emma: Ah! Silver! Exactly who I needed to see right now. Come on up, I really need your help with a big problem. The elevator lowered and the doors opened. It was a quick trip to the roof where the Shroud stepped out into the middle of a small settlement. this wasn't your typical rooftop, there were a few small houses, crops growing outside, and pens inhabited by both brahmin and pre-war pigs. A short girl wearing big round glasses and a lavender tie came running up to the Shroud with her slightly annoyed friend dressed in all black with bright red streaks in her hair walking up behind.
