Down the street from Goodneighbor about half a block stood what was once the home of Boston's premier newspaper, the Boston Bugle. The new inhabitants of this building were good friends of the Silver Shroud.
On the outside there was nothing that told you this building was inhabited, this was by design as to not draw any unnecessary attention. However, once inside the lobby of this building there were enough barricades and turrets to defend a castle, all guarding the path to a little elevator door.
A large robot walked the lobby. It stood on four legs taller than the Shroud and had at least half a dozen guns across its head and shoulders. This was Pace. Not the smartest of robots, about the equivalent of a dog, but great for guarding an area you don't want intruders in. Pace ran up to the Shroud in excitement, they had met many times before. Pace was always happy to see a friendly face.
'Good boy', the Shroud patted Pace on the head and then moved on to the elevator where he pushed the button on a small speaker panel.
He was greeted by the agitated voice of a whiny teenage girl he had come to know.L 1.1 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-*Only if Silver Shroud*Kaylee: Who is it and what do you want? Player: a. (Be nice) Be nice Kaylee, it's only me. b. (Emma) Just let me talk to Emma. c. (Speak as Shroud) It is I, the Silver Shroud d. (Sarcasm) I was looking to borrow some manners, but it appears you are all out.Kaylee: Whatever... Hey, Emma! Your Silver Shroud friend is here to see you. Emma: Ah! Silver! Exactly who I needed to see right now. Come on up, I really need your help with a big problem. The elevator lowered and the doors opened. It was a quick trip to the roof where the Shroud stepped out into the middle of a small settlement. this wasn't your typical rooftop, there were a few small houses, crops growing outside, and pens inhabited by both brahmin and pre-war pigs. A short girl wearing big round glasses and a lavender tie came running up to the Shroud with her slightly annoyed friend dressed in all black with bright red streaks in her hair walking up behind.L 1.2 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Emma: If Shroud: We really need you help Mr. Shroud, something horrible has happened. Not Shroud: Help! something horrible has happened. Kaylee: If Shroud: Emma is getting all worked up over nothing, I think she has been listening to too many of your radio shows... Not Shroud: Kaylee: Emma is getting all worked up over nothing, I think she has been listening to too many of those Silver Shroud radio shows... Emma: How can you take this so lightly, Kaylee? We have to save him! Player: a. (Who?) Save who? b. (The point?) Can we get to the point? c. (Sarcasm) Those radio shows are a very good resource of valuable information.Emma: It's Cal, he has been kidnapped! He needs our help. Player:a. (Not possible) Not Cal, nobody can kidnap that guy. b. (You're right) We must do something, fast! c. (Who?) Who do you think did it? Emma: It was the Blue Bandit! He hacked Cal and is going to make him part of his evil robot army. Kaylee: I told her the Blue Bandit is not real and that Cal is probably off flirting with some girl or got preoccupied shooting molerats out of their holes. But she never listens to me... sigh... Player: a. (The Blue Bandit?) What do you know about this Blue Bandit? b. (Where?) Where was the last place you saw Cal? c. (Let's find him) Ok, let's go look for Cal. d. (Busy) I'm too busy to look for him at the moment, I'm sure he is fine.Emma:a. The Blue Bandit has recently come to the Commonwealth and is kidnapping robots and forcing them to join his robot army to take over the world! b. He was taking a routine trip to do some trading. He always stops at Bunker Hill first, and then makes his rounds to several small settlements north of there, and then over to Covenant before heading back home. c. Ok, we should start at Bunker Hill, that is always his first stop and someone there had to have seen him. Kaylee: I guess I'll have to come along, keep you two loons out of trouble... d. Well, don't blame me when evil Cal takes over the world. The Shroud headed off for Bunker Hill with the two girls, who continued to bicker most of the way there. 'I guess it is going to be a while before I get Emma to come with me to the Reaver Church and have a look at Dee Dee... But this Blue Bandit guy seems like a pivotal character in this whole mystery, so I guess it is worth it.' the Silver Shroud thought to himself.

Bunker Hill was a settlement set up by traders for traders. Almost any bulk supply of goods being sold around he Commonwealth passed through these walls at one point or another. Tall walls surrounded the central market. A tall white obelisk, a monument to a long forgotten war, sat in the middle, now just a simple guard tower. The Shroud and the girls got a few weird looks coming through the gate, it unusual for people not part of a caravan to come to Bunker Hill.L 1.3 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Player: Have you seen an orange robot by the name of Cal around here?Trader: No. Trader: Never heard of em. Trader: Oh, Cal, he's a cool guy, I saw him yesterday... or was it the day before. Went north from here. Trader: I know that sarcastic jerk, he left going north. Player: Have you heard of the Blue Bandit?Trader: Like from the radio show? Trader: I don't read comics. Trader: Two guys were talking about him earlier Trader: Ya, his men attacked a caravan just north of here, those guys by the obelisk were talking about it. One of the caravan guards took the time to point out two shabby looking men standing next to the obelisk.

L 1.4 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-
Player: Have you heard of a man called 'The Blue Bandit'?
Mitchell: Oh I've heard of him alright, his goons took my entire shipment!
Player: a. (What happened?) b. (Shipment?) What goods were you carrying? c. (Where at?) Where did this happen? d. (Cal) Have you seen an orange robot? His name is Cal. Emma: He has one real big eye and his native language is sarcasm.
a. Mitchell: Well, we had just picked up a new shipment of supplies and were heading northwest toward Covenant. Right outside Bunker Hill we ran into a teenage girl, she needed to get to Covenant to see her sick father but was afraid to travel alone.
Maraca Jim: We couldn't just leave a sweet little girl like that to walk the wasteland alone, there is no telling what would happen to her. So we let her come with us.
Mitchell: Well, apparently she wasn't any safer with us, because not too long after we set out, two synth looking fellows wearing trench coats and fedoras ambushed us and took the girl hostage.
Maraca Jim: They said they would let her live if we let them leave with the goods and didn't follow. We couldn't let some young girl die over some stupid weapons mods and a few buckets of glue, so we let them go.
Mitchell: I sure hope that girl is ok... They said the Blue Bandit would be watching.
b. Mitchell: We had some clothing, food, medicine, and all sorts of stuff. Oddly enough, these fellows didn't want any of that or any bottlecaps. The only thing they took were some weapons mods, the head to a Protectron, and a few containers of what was called 'thermal interface material'. It just looked like glue to me...
Emma: That is used in electronic equipment to bond components to a heat sink to prevent overheating. It is quite hard to find, worth a lot of money to someone who needs to repair computers... or robots.
Kaylee: Know it all...
Mitchell: One of the containers broke open and spilled all over the coat of the second gunman. It had quite a strong smell.
Maraca Jim: They ran off with our best Brahman, Betsy as well... So we had to carry what we could back here on our own backs... I'm gonna miss that girl, best Brahmin I have ever had.
c. Mitchell: We crossed the bridge to the north of here and were heading west. It was right by that big Poseidon turbine, they were hidden on top of those cliffs where we couldn't see them and they got the jump on us.
d. Mitchell: That sounds exactly like the guy that was asking us questions right after it had happened, I think he had seen the whole thing and wanted to help.
Maraca Jim: I warned him about what they said about the Blue Bandit, but he went off following the synths anyways.
Mitchell: This Blue Bandit guy has the ability to control Institute synths, what is one robot going to be able to do against that?

It wasn't very far to get to the spot where this highway robbery occurred. There wasn't much to see, there was a cliff overlooking the road, this must have been where the bandits hid.M 1.1 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Kaylee: This is the perfect vantage point for a tactile strike, all they had to do is sit here and wait for unsuspecting caravans to pass and then pounce. Emma: Look at this footprint over here! No one has feet shaped like that besides Cal, he must have been here following them. There were some busted boxes and supplies of lesser value scattered on the ground, the aftermath of a hasty search for a particular product.
Emma: Hey, here is a busted bottle of that thermal paste the trader was telling us about. If the gunman spilled this on his coat, he would smell like this for weeks... Kaylee: You still have that dog of yours, right? Do you think he could follow the scent? That might just lead us straight to the bandit's front door. Player: I guess it is time to head back home and get Dogmeat. Now back at the spot of the crime, the Shroud picked up a piece of the busted container and presented it to the excited mut. Dogmeat immediately picked up the scent and began to run down the street and back to the bridge they had just crossed.
He went down through the city streets, past the boat lodged in top of a building with its cooky robot captain, and down to the waterfront. Here say a row of buildings that remained remarkably close to their pre-war states. Dogmeat came to a long building with 5 large windows across the front. This was the place the perpetrators took the loot.M 1.2 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Emma: Good puppy! Kaylee: At least someone in this group has some brains. Player: a. (Diplomacy) I am going to try to talk to them first, but be ready for my signal to move into position if things go south. b. (Guns blazing) We have the element of surprise, let's go in guns blazing and take them out.

N 1.1 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Anya: Hey! What the hell do you think you are doing waltzing in here like you own the place. Rodney: Settle down Anya, I'm sure our new friend here has a very good reason to be visiting us today.
Hello, my name is Rodney, and my two fine companions here are Bud and Anya, Bud is the tall one.Anya: Are you calling me short?Rodney: No... just lacking in height...Player: a. (Cal) I am looking for my friend, he is a robot by the name of Cal.Kaylee: One big eye, one small eye, probably carrying a sniper rifle. Sarcastic guy, thinks he is funnier than he actually is. b. (The Blue Bandit) Do you know where I can find the Blue Bandit? c. (Institute) You guys don't look like the synths I'm used to seeing, do you work for the Institute? d. (Caravan) Where you the guys that robbed that caravan up north?Bud: a. Ya, he is working for... b. The boss is currently working on... c. We would never work for those jerks, we are... d. Well... uhhh...Rodney: Hold on one second. You're the one who came barging in here on us. Before you start asking us questions, how do we know we can trust you?Player: a. (Honest guy) I'm just a simple guy living in a nearby settlement. I'm just trying to find my friend, not looking to cause any trouble. b. (Charisma) Hey, we are all civilized business men here, no reason for distrust. We can all help each other out. c. (Lie - Circuit) I'm a friend of Circuit, he told me I could find you here. d. (Silver Shroud) I am the Silver Shroud, I seek only justice and tell only the truth.Anya: a. You sound boring...Rodney: What did I tell you about manners, Anya?Anya: If I can't say anything nice, shut my god damn mouth... Rodney: Anyways, you seem harmless enough, what was it you were here looking for? b. And what have you ever done for us?Rodney: Don't be so hasty Anya, I like the way this guy thinks, this may turn out to be a mutually beneficial meeting. So what was it you needed?c. Where the hell has that guy been? He was supposed to be meeting with the boss about the 'Gammorin' problem over a week ago and still hasn't shown.Kaylee: He has run into some... let's call it... complications... Rodney: That's regrettable, but at least he had the decency to send you to finish the job. So what was it you needed again? d. 'The' Silver Shroud? Wait till the boss hears about this, it is going to make his day.Rodney: I knew I recognized that outfit from somewhere. The boss is always happy to help out a fellow superhero, how can I be of assistance?Player: a. (Cal) I am looking for my friend, he is a robot by the name of Cal.Kaylee: One big eye, one small eye, probably carrying a sniper rifle. Sarcastic guy, thinks he is funnier than he actually is. b. (The Blue Bandit) Do you know where I can find the Blue Bandit?c. (Institute) You guys don't look like the synths I'm used to seeing, do you work for the Institute?d. (Caravan) Where you the guys that robbed that caravan up north?Rodney: a. Yes, I know the guy, he is in the back room helping us load boxes. Nice guy, though I do wish he would learn when to shut his mouth. Just right through that door over there to the left.
b. The Blue Bandit is far too busy to be in contact with people personally, being the only true super hero in the Commonwealth. I can put you into contact with his agent if you are interested in helping the cause, he may have some use for some more fleshy humans. *receive note* b. *Circuit option* You mean Circuit didn't share this information with you?Kaylee: He hasn't been in the most talkative of moods lately... You know how he accidentally leaves out important details sometimes, like where to find the guy we are supposed to meet...Bud: I know what you mean, one time I was supposed to help him clear a raider camp, but his letter never gave me the location... Then he yelled at me the next day for not helping him. I'm glad we are working with you now, he was a bit of a prick.Rodney: The Blue Bandit is far too busy to be in contact with people personally, being the only true super hero in the Commonwealth. I can put you into contact with his agent if you are interested in helping the cause, he may have some use for some more fleshy humans. *receive note*c. We had our memories wiped and were tossed out of the Institute a long time ago, now we work for the Blue Bandit, the only true hero on the side of robot kind. The Institute wants to make robots more like humans, the Blue Bandit loves all the downtrodden. Even robots, just as they are. d. And what you make you say something like that?Player: *Option a*a. (Why) Why is he here?b. (How long) How long have you known Cal?c. (Bring him with me) So you don't mind if I bring him with me?Rodney: a. Let's just say he was 'inspired' by the Blue Bandit's goals and wanted to lend a hand. b. Not very long, he just showed up recently saying he wanted to help out, so we figured we could use some boxes moved and he is a strong fellow. c. He isn't here against his will, he can come and go as he pleases. Anya: Please do, he is getting on my nerves.Bud: I think he is funny... don't mind Anya's whining. Player: *Option d*a. (I followed the trail) My dog followed the scent of the stolen good and it lead me to you. b. (Never mind) Let's talk about something else. Rodney: a. I don't know if I like what you are implying here, are you accusing us of something? I think it might be wise for you to keep your nose in your own business and not go poking it where it doesn't belong. b. *return to pick multiple*(Perception - Signal) *interrupt*
Emma begins to sneak around to the stairs at the side of the room and climb to a vantage point.Player:a. (I know) I know it was you that did it. b. (Speak as Shroud) You can not hide from the eyes of justice, the Silver Shroud is always watching! c. (Never mind) Let's talk about something else. *return to pick multiple*d. (Distract - Charisma) What makes you think that you can just go around taking hostages and stealing stuff that doesn't belong to you? Do you have no decency at all? Why don't you try getting a real job and earning your own caps so you can buy all the thermal interface material you want. Kaylee: Ya, you big jerks, what gives you the right? Rodney: a and b. And what are you going to do about it? *Rodney, Bud, and Anya attack**If you chose 'signal' but didn't chose distract*Rodney: Hey, they are trying to get the jump on us. *Rodney, Bud, and Anya attack* Rodney: *if successful charisma check*d. You don't know what it is like out there for a synth tossed out on... wait, what the hell! After successfully distracting the synths, Emma was able to sneak up the stair where she proceeded to push a large barrel down on top of the bandits knocking them out. Maybe they will want to talk more when they regain consciousness...
Rodney: Hey! what was that for? Anya: Owww... my head... you big jerks.Player: *Pick Multiple*a. (Caravan) Why did you rob that caravan? b. (Hostage) What happened to that poor girl you took hostage? c. (Betsy) The caravan guard wants his brahmin back. d. (Kill them) People like you only diverse one fate. *bang* *bang* *bang* *before choosing d, dialogue box*[This will make you permanent enemies with the Blue Bandit, would you like to continue?]
Rodney:a. We needed the supplies to help the Blue Bandit build his robot army and protect all of the oppressed kind from the hateful people of the Commonwealth.Bud: We weren't trying to hurt people, just with the Institute stirring up so much trouble it makes it tough for a robot out there to make an honest living.b. We didn't want to have to actually shoot anyone, we were just trying to trick them into handing over the goods peacefully.Anya: I was the hostage. I pretend to be a defenseless girl and gain the sympathy of caravans, so that when Bud and Rodney hold me hostage those poor schmucks will hand over the good and no one has to get shot.Player: *Pick Replace*
b. (Synth, how?) But you are a synth, how do you do that? Anya: The Institute built us with the ability to cloak so we look almost perfectly like humans. I guess we were a stepping stone on their way to making Gen 3 synths. Problem is, if we cloak for more than an hour or two we overheat, so I guess that is why the Institute tossed us.c. We just need the cow for one simple job, it won't be long now and I will bring his cow back to him.Bud: I have personally seen to it that the cow has gotten nothing but the best care. It's a nice cow, especially the head on the left. The right head is a bit more temperamental, but I think she is just nervous being in a new place. Rodney: Bud like his animals too much, he would never allow us to do anything to harm an innocent beast.Player: *Pick Replace*c. (Rental) Well, if you are going to rent his brahmin you should at least pay for it, and try asking nicely next time. Rodney: c. Rent-a-Cow... Hmmmm... Might be a good business. Anyways, here, give him these 500 caps and tell him I will have her back soon and in perfect health.

After a minor altercation with the Blue Bandit's minions, the Shroud stepped into the back room of the building where he found an orange humanoid looking robot loading boxes onto the back of a Brahmin.N 1.2 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Cal: Hey, what's up. What are you doing hanging around here? Player: a. (Same question) I was just about to ask you the same question. b. (Come with me) You should come with me. c. (Emma) Emma was worried about you.Cal:a. I'm loading boxes, what else would I be doing in the back room of a bandit hideout with all this cargo. I have yet to teach this brahmin to load these boxes on her own back. b. I'm a bit busy right now, these boxes aren't just going to hop their own way onto the back of this pack-brahmin. c. Emma is always worried about something, that's just how she rolls. Don't pay it too much mind. all. Anyways, there are still plenty of boxes over there that need lifting, unless you just came to watch me do all the hard work. Emma: See! I told you, the Blue Bandit hacked him. Here, hit him on the back of the head with this rock and we can drag him home! Cal: Uhhh... Let's not do that whole thing with the rock, and my head... I don't even think that would knock out a robot, we aren't exactly built like that. Player: a. (Hacked) Well... Have you been hacked? b. (Why?) Why are you here? c. (Sarcasm) We could always try the rock and find out.Kaylee: I call dibs! Cal:a. Well... If had been hacked, what exactly would you expect me to say to that question? 'Oh yes, I've totally been hacked!'. You didn't really think that question through, did you? b. I've been investigating a rumor that an old enemy is still alive, so I can take measures to 'correct' that error, if you know what I mean. The Blue Bandit apparently is also not a big fan of Gammorin, so I followed these jokers back here to see what kind of information I could pick up. c. It's nice to be so loved... Emma: So you weren't hacked? I was so worried about you! Cal:Come on Emma, have you ever once been able to hack into my systems? If you can't do it, what makes you think this Blue Bandit goon can? Oh... wait... You don't even know who the Blue Bandit is yet. I wold tell you, but I want to see the look on your face when you find out firsthand. This will be epic. Anyways, don't blow my undercover phohacked scheme, I still need Gammorin's location. Player: a. (Gammorin) So why are you after this Gammorin guy? b. (Undercover) Have you found anything useful? c. (Phohacked?) You do know that isn't a real word, right? d. (That's all) That's all for now, good luck with your spying.Cal:a. Gammorin is my oldest and most hated enemy I have been fighting him for over 50 years. He killed my friends and he must die for that. Up until recent information surfaced, everyone believed he had died at the hands of the Reavers. Anyways, it is a long story, I'll tell you the whole thing when I don't have all these boxes to load. b. The Blue Bandit has been collaborating with Gammorin to steal shipments of robotic equipment. I am still trying to uncover the why and the where of the situation, so I'm going to stick around here and do some more snooping... And honestly, I kind of like the work. c. Phohacked, adj, the state of being fake hacked. If it isn't a word already it sure as hell should be. Emma: You can't just make up words like that, Cal. Cal: And who made you the kind of all things to do with words? Emma: It's called a dictionary... Cal: I am a dictionary. Emma: You are a calculator. Cal: I am a lot of things, one of which is head of box moving, which I really must get back to. Player: *Option b* *Pick Replace*b. (The work?) Why would you like this kind of work?Cal: *Option b*b. A little hard work never killed anybody... well... except for that one guy... But it hasn't killed that many people. I find that putting in a hard days work helps you focus your mind and better appreciate it when you have free time. Cal:d. Oh, and one more thing before you go. While out searching for the location of Gammorin's hideout, I ran into this guy named Duke Adams out in this settlement called BrainTree. He is setting up an army to fight Gammorin. If you could stop by and make sure his preparations are going as planned, that would be great. *Get Navpoint* Emma: Be careful Cal! Cal: What fun would that be?

It seemed like Cal had everything under control here, so now Emma could go with the Shroud to fix Dee Dee's cyborg eye. However, this new information on the Blue Bandit was just as intriguing, and it was apparent he was working with Circuit. These super mutants Cal was talking about also happened to be right near the third and final caravan Hancock had asked him to investigate. And after all that, he still hasn't had an opportunity to check out Combat Zone. Decisions... decisions... decisions...
After pondering it over, the Shroud decided to go meet with the 'agent' for the Blue Bandit. On his way out of the Rodney's den he decided to investigate each of the synths individually to see if he could get any information before meeting this agent.*Go -HERE- if you want to continue the story from the Reaver story arch. This will get you more direct results for the actual murder, if you are still concerned about that. For the purposes of this page, however, I am going to continue down the Blue Bandit path to the fight with the super mutant warlord Gammorin.* N 1.3 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Rodney: You aren't planning on dropping another barrel on my head, are you? *or*: Hey, how are things going? Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy?Rodney: a. Like my brother and sister, I am a generation 2.5 synth. We are prototypes for the more human looking synths they have now. After being tossed away by the Institute we were left homeless in a world that hates nothing more than synths. It was impossible to make an honest living, but I soon discovered I had a skill for gambling. I had quite a bit of success pulling off schemes with my two partners in crime to relieve foolish people of their caps. That was of course until I ran into the Count. Player: a. (Make a living) What does a synth need to make a living for? You don't eat food or anything... b. (The Count) Who is the Count? c. (Gambling) How did you learn to be good at gambling?Rodney: a. We still need shelter to protect us from rusting out in the rain, as well as fusion cores to keep us charged up, and all sorts of other stuff robots need. b. The Count is the head of a large crime family that spreads across half a dozen cities on the east coast. He started out on the boardwalks of Atlantic City but now controls an entire infrastructure of drugs, gambling, and prostitution all the way up to the Capital Wasteland. Boston is kind of new territory for him, he had never met a real life synth before. I slipped my way into a poker game with him, and long story short, I relieved him of a large sum of caps. He wasn't very thrilled and proceeded to try to relieve me of my head... Player: a. (Sounds dangerous) b. (What next?) What happened after that? c. (Sarcasm) I think you would look better without your head.Rodney: He would have had me if the Blue Bandit hadn't shown up and made quick work of the Count's men. My siblings and I have been working for the Blue Bandit ever since. c. Maybe my personality was formed from memories of a skilled gambler, or maybe my programming just allows me to understand the analytics of the situation. It's hard to tell. b. What is there to tell besides the obvious? He is a hero to the people, willing to do what it takes to protect the poor and mistreated of the Commonwealth from the abuse of those trying to take advantage of them. He is a skilled programmer and is building an army of robots to fight for the cause. c. Gammorin is an ancient super mutant from the West Coast, way smarter than any super mutant I have ever run across. Still just as brutal however. He enslaves people and drags them off to the glowing sea where he sometimes turns them into super mutants. He is just an all around bad guy. N 1.4 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Anya: Are you here to start something again? Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy?Anya:a. Unlike the standard Gen 2 Synths, the three of us were made to test new ways of making synths look truly human. We have the ability to mask as humans for a limited amount of time. The masks however overheat out components, and as a result the Institute scrapped us for newer models. The Blue Bandit however accepted us as robots and encouraged us to embrace the true beauty of our mechanical nature. b. The Blue Bandit hates anyone who mistreats the outcasts of the wasteland, even the robots. He detests the Institute and their Gen 3 synths. He believes in accepting people for who they are, and having Gen 3 synths masquerading around as humans is just sick. c. Gammorin used to be allies with the Blue Bandit. Out in the Glowing Sea he is able to dig up vast amounts of pre-war tech from a long buried factory. Gammorin would trade raw supplies in return for the Blue Bandit building him advanced medical research technology... What a super mutant warlord is doing with that much medical research technology I don't know, but it can't be good. Gammorin, however, decided to get greedy and kidnap 3 of our Many Men. The Blue Bandit would never leave his men behind to be slaves to that disgusting warlord, and we plan on fighting like hell to get them back. Thus the large robot army we are building. N 1.5 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Bud: Oh, hello. Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy?Bud:a. The Institute abandoned us because we were not human enough. The Blue Bandit taught us to be proud of being robots. Not that we hate organics or anything... I especially love animals. Have you met my cat? His name is Cheeto, he is running around here somewhere. b. The Blue Bandit protects the poor and the mistreated ghouls and the robots. We work for the Blue Bandit. c. He is a bad, bad man... well... super mutant... We plan to take him out, save our ghoul buddies he captured.

The Silver Shroud and the two girls walked through the door to the infamous Third Rail. According to Rodney, the Blue Bandit's agent would be there after 8:00pm.
'Are they old enough to be in here?' questioned the ghoul dressed in a sharp tuxedo at the door.
'Probably not' the Shroud replied as they continued on without hesitation. The sound of Marigold's singing once again filled the air as they walked down the long stairwell to the bar.
'She is amazing!' Emma blurted out.
'Stay focues Emma, we need to find this agent.' Kaylee looked around a bit nervously. Her sister told stories of the Third Rail all the time, but Kaylee had never been to a place like this.
'Hey pretty ladies, why don't you come have a drink with me?' This customer had obviously had one too many drinks already. 'Why don't you back off and give us some space.' Kaylee shot back, causing the man to immediately back off and returned to his table.
The Shroud walked up to the bar and ordered two waters and handed them to Kaylee and a disappointed looking Emma, who apparently was expecting something more exciting.
'I'm looking for the agent of a man called 'The Blue Bandit''.
Charlie, the robot behind the bar just pointed. A man in his early 20s sat at the end of the bar. Dark shaggy hair covered his eyes as he sipped his drink. He had the look of a man lost deep in thought. Beyond that nothing about his appearance or demeanor would warrant any attention to him at all, probably a plus in his line of work. It wasn't hard to imagine he could sit in a place like this for hours before anyone would even notice he was there.O 1.1 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-Seymore: ...oh, sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you here about the Blue Bandit? Emma: Seymore! Is that you? What are you doing here, I haven't seen you in ages. Seymore: Emma? Well... Ummmm... You made it pretty apparent you didn't want to see me around anymore. Now I work for the Blue Bandit. Player: a. (Know each other?) Wait, you two know each other? b. (Who are you?) So, who exactly are you? c. (The Blue Bandit) I am trying to find the Blue Bandit. d. (I'm Circuit) I'm Circuit, was supposed to meet with you about taking down Gammorin.Kaylee: Ya, he's Circuit. *whispers to Emma* Who is Circuit again? Emma: *whispers to Kaylee* The dead guy in the hotel, try to keep up, Kaylee. Seymore:a. Well... Kaylee: They were dating for about a year until Emma stomped on his heart and kicked him to the curb. Emma: I wouldn't exactly put it that way... Seymore: Sounds pretty accurate to me. b. My name is Seymore, I am the agent who handles all of the Blue Bandit's business matters while he is busy saving the poor and oppressed of the Wasteland. c. And why would you want to do that? d. Circuit the Reaver? You don't look much like a Reaver. *Option c*Player: a. (Work) I want to work for him. b. (Murder) I'm investigating the murder of a guy named Circuit. c. (Gammorin) I heard he wants to kill Gammorin, and so do I.Seymore: a. Well, I do have one job that requites some 'human' assistance. The Blue Bandit usually prefers robot workers because they are more reliable, but this is a special instance. It pays 500 caps, if you are interested report to Rodney at his storehouse. *Get Location*b. That's the guy Mac told me would meet with me about the 'Gammorin' problem. I guess that's why he never showed up. You don't think Gammorin killed him, do you? Player: a. (Too subtle) Too subtle to be supermutants.Emma: Supermutants aren't exactly known for quietly murdering people without leaving a trace. Someone in the hotel would have seen a 10 foot tall mutant walking the streets of Goodneighbor would draw some attention. Seymore: Thanks Emma... b. (Mac) Wait, you know Mac? c. (Gammorin problem?) What kind of problem are you having with Gammorin? Seymore:b. Of course, she was the one that told me that Gammorin was responsible for the disappearance of John Paul Jones and the other Mischievous Men. That bastard! We were helping him with his research and he betrays us like that, what a monster... c. The original deal was that Gammorin would collect the materials needed by 'whatever means necessary' and bring them to the Blue Bandit. The Blue Bandit would then build robots for Dee Dee, high end medical research equipment for Gammorin, and keep the rest as his payment. However, Mac informed me Gammorin kidnapped our men and is holding them hostage. *Option c*Seymore:Well, if that is the case, we are working on a job right now to gather the supplies needed for a large scale attack. If you want to help, report to Rodney at his storehouse. *Get Location* *Option d*Player: a. (You're right) You're right, I'm not Circuit. b. (Charisma) That's the point of being undercover, to not look like who I am... Seymore:b. *pass* I guess you are right. So, what's the plan? b. *fail* You'r not fooling me... Player: a. (Make something up) Well, we are going to go to that place we talked about and meet those people so we can do that thing to get the stuff we need. b. (Sarcasm) We are going to kiss and make up. c. (You're right) You're right, I'm not Circuit.Seymore: Ok, enough games, what are you really here for? *End Conversation*

This was an interesting turn of events, finding out that Mac not only knew more than she let on, but was playing informant for the Mechanist. But for now events were pointing back to Rodney's doorstep and whatever this big job was that the Mechanist had planned. This was the next lead for the Silver Shroud. He would want to make one quick stop before leaving Goodneighbor, however. Hancock would like to know what was discovered about his caravans.
Hancock: Have you solved our little mystery yet?
Player: a. (Circuit) - I found out the murder victim was a guy named Circuit. - He was a Reaver. - He had a deal going on with the Blue Bandit. - I haven't figured out who killed him yet. b. (Caravans) I found out that you caravans were robbed by a supermutant overlord named Gammorin. I am currently working with the Blue Bandit to gain more details so we can attack his base. c. (No) Not yet.
Hancock: a. Hmmmm... This is more complex that I thought. The Blue Bandit is a dangerous guy... or robot... or whatever he is. b. Good work detective, here are your caps. Don't spend them all in one place, well, unless it is at one of my stores. Tell me when you are ready to attack this Gammorin head on, I have a new vertibird that I 'acquired' and I have been itching to try it out. This seems like just the job. c. Well, get to work buddy, the good people of Goodneighbor are counting on you.
After a short conversation the Shroud headed out, still followed by the two girls. They left Goodneighbor and headed back to the sea line from which they had just come.

Rodney: Back again so soon?
Player: a. (Help the Blue Bandit) Seymore told me to come help you on some big job. b. (More about you) I want to know more about you. c. (Sarcasm) We just missed you so much we had to come back.
Rodney: a. Well, if we are going to face Gammorin, we are going to need all of our robots activated. For this, we are going to need a lot more fusion cores, and I just so happen to know which stuck up pricks have more cores stashed away than anyone. Are you ready to pull of the crime of the century?
Player: a. (Sounds dangerous) b. (From who?) And who would we be stealing these fusion cores from? c. (I'm in) I'm down for whatever. d. (I'm busy)
Rodney: a. I live for danger b. In the basement level of Diamond City, there is a bank vault full of all sorts of food, medical supplies, caps, weapons, and most importantly fusion cores. This is how the Diamond City elite and that corrupt mayor keep their life of luxury while looking down on the hard working people of the Commonwealth. A bunch of spoiled snobs if you ask me. We are just going to take some of the excess off the top, they won't even notice it is gone. We will take the fusion cores we need and spread the food and meds to the poor. Robots don't need that junk. c. That's the spirit! d. Suit yourself.
Player: a. (You're crazy) There is no way you can pull this off. b. (Sarcasm) Ya, and I'm going to walk on the mood. c. (I'm in) Sounds like fun. d. (Maybe later)
Rodney: a and b. Wait till you hear our plan before you judge our chances. Let's go over to my map for a minute. The vault is located on the basement level of the stadium right over here *points to it on map* This is where we need to get to. The door to this vault however is not as simple as just picking a lock. The Blue Bandit has supplied me with a special safe cracking robot. Say hello Mr. Slickfingers.
Mr. Slickfingers: Hello sir, it will be a pleasure stealing things from rich pricks with you.
Rodney: But we can't just waltz Mr. Slickfingers through the front gate of Diamond City without raising attention.
Mr. Slickfingers: I'm afraid Waltzing is not within my core parameters.
Rodney: This is what we need you for.
Player: a. (Sneak him in) So you want me to sneak him in? b. (Safe cracking) They didn't teach safe cracking where I went to school. c. (Sarcasm) You want me to Waltz?
Rodney: a. Exactly There is a service door on the north side of Diamond City over here *points to map again* We need you to open it and let Mr. Slickfingers into the city without anyone noticing.
Player: a. (Simple enough) b. (Sounds hard)
Rodney: It gets harder. The door is locked with a combination lock, so you must first get the combination from Diamond City Security. This is where Anya comes in. She had been in the city doing recon work and building rapport with a particular guard. We wait until he is the only one on duty at the station, unusually around 4:00pm and then send Anya in to distract him. You sneak by and get the combination off of the computer.
Player: a. (Is that is?) b. (Getting out) How do we get out with the loot?
Rodney: a. Get the combination, let Mr. Slickfingers in the back, get to the vault. b. Bud will be bringing in the Blue Bandit's special armor hidden in the cargo of that Cow we stole... ehhh... borrowed. After he drops off the armor here *points to map* he will head directly to the vault to load the loot on the back of the Cow. The Blue Bandit will create the distraction while you, Anya, and Bud slip out of the city unnoticed by anyone.
Player: a. (Blue Bandit's Armor) Is there anything special about it? b. (Distraction?) What kind of distraction are we talking about here? c. (And you?) So what will you be doing this whole time?
Rodney: a. It keeps him alive. That's the important part, right? b. This is my favorite part of the plan. The Blue Bandit and his robots will pull off a fake heist of Diamond City marketplace to get all eyes and guns turned on him while we pull off the real heist unnoticed. He will bust in like a classic gangster stereotype and yell, 'hands in the air, this is a stick up!'. All people will talk about for days is the Blue Bandit's heist and they won't even notice we were in their vault. Show them one hand while you rob them blind with the other. c. I will be controlling the lights. For dramatic effect and to get the attention off of you of course.
Player: a. (When do we start) b. (It's wrong) We can't just steal from the innocent people of Diamond City.
Rodney: a. Anya is already in Diamond City, and Bud should be well on his way. The only people they are waiting for is you and me. Just meet me at the gate when you are ready to proceed. I will be in my human mask, but I should be easy enough to recognize. b. We are protecting the innocent from their oppressors, but you can do what you wish.
'What have you got yourself into?' thought the Shroud to himself. Going through with a heist of Diamond City seemed like the exact kind of crime the Shroud prided himself on fighting. However, Rodney did have a good point that the elite of Diamond City were quite corrupt and out for only themselves.
It wouldn't be the first time the Shroud has had to work outside the lines to get a job done, and if stealing from the rich and giving to the poor was what it took to have a shot at taking down the slave driver Gammorin, then that is just what he would have to do.
Kaylee: As much as I would like to help you commit large crimes, it seems like you already have enough people for this job.
Emma: Ya, I guess stealth operations are not the best suited for large groups of people.
Kaylee: I think I am going to go check out that BrainTree settlement that Cal was telling us about earlier.
Emma: Can I come to?
Kaylee: No.
Emma: Please...
Kaylee: No.
Emma: Awww... Why not?
Kaylee: No.
Emma: That's not even an answer... Come on...
Kaylee: Just grab your things and hurry up, I don't have all day.

Walking in the front gate of Diamond City and smiling at the people felt different this time, knowing in the back of his head that he was about to pull the biggest heist in the history of their town. Rodney stood in the corner, now with a face that you couldn't even tell was not human unless you knew what you were looking for. He seemed way too calm for a guy about to pull off the crime of the century.
P 2.1 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-
Rodney: I assume you are ready to go?
Player: a. (Yes) b. (Not yet) c. (I've changed my mind)
Rodney: a. Ok, it's showtime. Everyone is already in place, head over to Diamond City Security and signal Anya to start her act.
The Shroud headed across town to the base of Diamond City Security. He almost didn't recognize his synth accomplice when a pretty looking young human looking lady winked at him to communicate she was going in.
Anya: I'll keep him talking, just be quiet and he won't notice you.
*Anya walks over to the security guard on duty*
Anya: Leeroy, where have you been? I've been looking for you all day.
Leeroy: You know I have work, we have gone over this before.
Anya: But I'm lonely...
Leeroy: I know, I know, I miss you too, but you know what the captain said about having non security personnel in the office.
Anya: He isn't here now, is he?
Leeroy: I guess not.
Anya: Tell me one of your exciting stories of how you defended Diamond City.
Leeroy: Well... I... I guess there was this one time when a stray dog got in the walls and scared Nat. I chased it away. Piper wrote a public special thanks to me in the next issue of Publick Occurrences. Anya: Wow, you're such a hero. What about synths? Have you ever fought a synth?
Leeroy: One time I walked around the corner and thought a synth was about to jump me so I fired... It turned out to just be one of those creepy mannequins that seem to be everywhere. I hit it square in the heart though!
Anya: Can I see your gun?
Leeroy: Sure, I guess, just don't take the safety off.
Anya: Ooo... Wow, I could take on so many Synths with this, pow! pow! pow!
Leeroy: Ok, enough, enough.
Anya: Come on, you're not any fun...
Leeroy: I'm at work right now, I don't want the captain chewing me out for giving my gun to a civilian. Maybe after work I will let you play with my other gun, if you know what I mean.
Anya: Ewww... Don't be a creeper
*Anya leaves*
Leeroy: Wait... I thought... awww...
Anya did a good job of keeping the guard talking as the Shroud picked up the numbers for the combination lock off the computer terminal. The Shroud now headed over to the large green wall at the north end of Diamond City. Only one man stood in view of the service door he had to access, this would be easy enough for the Shroud to take care of.
'Hey, I saw some kids over there writing with chalk on your wall'
'*Grumbles* Mind your manners. This isn't just some shack I'm painting. This is the Wall, and the great green guardian ain't to be touched.'
sound\voice\fallout4.esm\npcmabbot\0013615f_1.fuz
sound\voice\fallout4.esm\npcmabbot\000238b2_1.fuz
The old man headed off in the direction the Shroud had pointed, leaving him free to open up the service door.
Mr. Slickfingers: Well hello, I hope you are ready to take the property of other people. I sure do love taking other peoples property.
Through the back alleyways they crept on their way to the door leading to the stadium basement. He just narrowly avoided the vision of one security guard, and then had to go start up a conversation with Nick Valentine to keep him from walking in the direction of the robot he was smuggling into the city. The Shroud was unsure of how Valentine would feel about this particular moral grey area the Shroud was walking in, so it was best to keep him out of the loop.
They headed down the stairs to the basement where Anya and Bud Eagerly awaited them.
Anya: It looks like there is more security than we had thought, hopefully you know how to get through these traps.
Bud: That thing shot me in the elbow...
*Insert complicated heist level to remove traps so the team can reach the vault*

The path to the vault was full of trip wires and other various traps ready to catch unsuspecting intruders. Luckily the Shroud had plenty of experience with this kind of equipment and they disabled them one by one as they worked their way down toward the vault.
P 2.4 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-
Anya: Wait! There are still two guards there. We are going to have to wait till the Mechanist starts his distraction and hopefully they go to help with the commotion. We don't want any violence that leaves a trace that we were ever here.
Betsy: Mooo!
Bud: Shhh... be a good cow and sit still...
Guard 1: Did I just hear a Brahmin?
Guard 2: A Brahmin in the basement on Diamond City, that's a new one.
Boom! That must have been the Blue Bandit making his grand entrance.
Guard 1: Wow, that sounded serious, we should go check it out.
The two guards hopped on an elevator leaving the vault door unattended. Mr. Slickfingers was more than eager to get to work on the door as the rest of the group waited anxiously.
Mr. Slickfingers: This shouldn't be too tough, just a few cranks here, slide this thingy over here, oh, wait, maybe over here... Hmmn... Maybe if I cut the red wire...
Anya: Are you sure he knows how to do this?
Mr. Slickfingers: One more lever... Jackpot! Time to relieve these poor schmucks of their valuables!
The lock released and Bud pulled the vault door open. Inside the walls were lined with more valuables than they had ever imagined. All this had been hidden under Diamond City all this time while out in the Commonwealth people were starving and sick and armed with crude weaponry. There were enough guns in here to supply an entire army.
Anya: Don't get greedy, we can only carry so much on Betsy.
The Shroud grabbed the fusion cores they needed as the others loaded up on guns, food, and medicince that would be a great help to the people out in the Wasteland. After loading Betsy as much as they could, the group headed back the way they came hopeing not to run into any oposition. Apparently everyone was preoccupied with the Mechanist's show and the path out of the city was clear. While the rest of the group made their escape, the Shroud decided to hold back and watch the performance of the Mechanist and his robots.
P 2.5 -Writing- -Voice Acting- -Creation Kit-
The Blue Bandit: All you have to do is hand over the items on the list and everybody gets to walk out of here free of bullets.
The Blue Bandit: Hey, be careful with that one, that is important.
The Blue Bandit: Ok, that looks like everything, I'm glad you made the smart move and didn't try to fight my invincible robot army.
The Blue Bandit: Hark! Lend me your ear! And remember my name fair citizens of Diamond City! For today shall forever live in infamy! The day You met the Blue Bandit! That's right! I procure from the affluently advantaged! And redistribute to the impoverished egalitarian! Paint me as either the villainous foe or heroic vanguard it matters little to me! For the work I do, I do not for praise or the admonishment of wrongdoers! But for the free citizens of the Commonwealth! And if you seek to obscure my goals then you best Beware! For when you least suspect... I Shall strike with my immortal Robot army of vengance! Mewhahaha! Beware, the Blue Bandit!
The eloquent words of the Mechanist echoed through Diamond City as a bright orange flame erupted from the rockets on his back. A contrast of blue fireworks shot into the air around him as he lifted up into the air with his jetpack and flew off into the sky with his robot cohorts. That was certainly a site to see, he may have only made off with a few supplies, but the Mechanist really knew how to work a crowd. The Commonwealth would be talking about this for months.

The Shroud made his way back to the meeting spot at Rodney's hideout. When he arrived, the three synths and the Blue Bandit were already there counting the loot they had brought back. Mr. Slickfingers was admiring the stolen goods with as overjoyed a look a Mr. Handy Robot can have on ones face.

Anya: Well if it isn't the hero of the day. If you hadn't shown up and skillfully removed those traps we would have been screwed. I guess I was wrong about you when we first met.
Bud: I sent Betsy back to her owner now that we are done. She told me to thank you for your help.
Rodney: Looks like we've got everything we needed and more. Now we just need to decide what to do with it all.
Player: a. (Support the Blue Bandit) You can sell a lot of this stuff and then use the caps toward more robots. b. (Help the poor) We should share it with the people who need it most and show the Commonwealth that The Blue Bandit is here to help. c. (I want a cut) You should give me some more, I really put my neck out there to make this happen.
Rodney: a. You're right, I'm sure we could build a few Sentry Bots with the money we get from this stash. b. Steal from he rich and give to the poor, I like it! We can make care packages and hand them out with Blue Bandit propoganda. c. You're right, I've got some good stuff picked out just for you.
*Results later on*
Rodney: a. We really amped up our robot army with all that loot we sold. Thanks for the help. *Blue Bandit faction gets 2 Sentry Bots*
b. Those Blue Bandit Care Packages have done a wonder for our PR. People are comparing us to modern day Robin Hoods. New people and robots are joining the cause every day. *Blue Bandit faction gets 2 Protectrons, 2 Assaultrons, 2 Mr. Gutsys*
c. I hope those supplies are working out for you. *Player gets 20 stimpacks, 10 rad aways, 20 fusion cores, 500 caps, and a legendary weapon + ammo*

Blue Bandit: Ahh! well if it isn't my newest accomplice! I must thank you for your assistance in Diamond City! Tell me, How do you feel about your role in the heist?
Player: A: (Not sure) I didn't really think about it. B: (Stealing is great!) I loved it! Stealing is a blast! C: (Means to an end) I didn't like it but I understand why it was necessary. D: (For a good cause) There are lots of people out there that need those resources.
Blue Bandit A&B: Hmmm, I guess I expected more than that... No matter. I thank you none the less for your help! C: Yes, I suppose it is a dirty business some times, but someone has to do it. D: I'm glad to see you have taken my message to heart. Maybe one day we could even be friends....
All: But now it is time to go in to the next phase of our plan! I have the power now to bring my robot army to life! I must ask your assistance yet again! You have proven yourself very capable, join me and my army of robots to fight Gammorin! I have begun working with a coalition to defeat Gammorin meeting near the glowing sea!
Player A: (Gammorin?) Why are You fighting Gammorin? B: (Coalition?) C: (think about it) I'll have to think about that D: (I'm with you)
Blue Bandit: A: He.... Tricked me.... He came to me asking for help making medical equipment to cure his people of sterility. He appealed to my sense of virtue, but it was all to manipulate me. B: I haven't been idle while my Merry Men have prepared for our heist! There is apparently a clever and foreign orange robot who has been organizing like minded forces of the Commonwealth against Gammorin. He even infiltrated my troops by letting me believe I'd hacked in to him. But it was all orchestrated so he could learn about my operation and talk to me about his coalition. It's kinda scary how effective that robot is at getting what he wants. C: There is little time to waste! I shall mark the location your map. Meet there when you've decided. D: Of course you are! I shall mark the location on your map.
Player: A:(Manipulate you?) How did he manipulate you? B: (Tell me about it) Yeah, tell me about it.
Blue Bandit: A: He appealed to my humanitarian efforts after learning the rumors about me that circulate the Commonwealth. He found me and spun a narrative about a weak and struggling group of Super Mutants, looking for peace and legacy after a long exile from the west. I willingly blinded myself out of good intentions and in doing so I helped a slaver build his empire, and in turn the blood of all those he takes is on my hands. I have to make things right. I have to save my people, and free those who are still alive. I have to... redeem myself, so to speak.
Player A: (Medical equipment?) What kind of Medical Equipment did he need? B: (trust?) How do I know I can trust you if you're a former ally of Gammorin? C: (Should have known) You should have been more careful about who you chose to work with. You are just as responsible as Gammorin. D: (Not your Fault) Clearly you had no way of knowing he was lying. You were trying to do the right thing!
Blue Bandit: A: Mostly just tools and surgical instruments that would fit Super Mutant hands and allow for precise control. But also he wanted a program capable of sequencing the complex Super Mutant genes. I shudder to think what he has used them for. B: You don't. That is a choice you have to make. But how much convincing do you need to team up against an enemy like Gammorin? C: *Sigh* Maybe I am. And not a night goes by that I don't wish I could take it back. But I can't. I can only move forward, though I suspect this will be a burden I'll carry with my my whole life. D: There is an old-world saying, The road to hell is paved in good intentions...
B-D: But the time for looking back is done! Will you join me outside the Glowing sea and prepare for battle?
