The 4th Gammorin
After the events of Fallout 1 and the fall of the Master, most of the supermutants along the west coast fled out east to escape the Brotherhood of Steels systematic genocide of their race. Without the unifying force of the Master, the supermutants had no formal leadership and end up just following the biggest and most brutal.
This is how the first Gammorin came to power. But this is not the Gammorin in my story, he was killed by the Brotherhood of Steel General named Latham who was sent out east to hunt down and kill every last one of these super mutants before his airship crashed right in the middle of super mutant territory.
Latham by some miracle managed to kill the original Gammorin in bare knuckle combat and saved his men. The supermutants, needing a leader, started following Latham now, and he became the second Gammorin.
The new Gammorin lead the supermutants to great success and even began opening up labs where the more intelligent of the mutants, such as Erkl, could run experiments and try to find a cure for super mutant sterility.
While looking for supplies however, the super mutants stumbled across the Cheyenne Mountain Military Complex and woke up the demon of Vault 0. The unsuspecting mutants were massacred by the robots that were dormant in the Vault for over 100 years. Gammorin was never the same after that tragic loss, and began to move his mutants out east to escape this mechanical threat.
Out east however, he ran into another threat, the very Brotherhood of Steel group that he once lead. The second Gammorin meets his end while fighting 'The Warrior' a young woman who had only just joined the Brotherhood of Steel back in Chicago, but would go on to become a legend in the Midwest.
The Warrior became the next in the line of Gammorins, but would never use the name. The super mutants still followed her however, and in return for being allowed to continue their research, they joined the Brotherhood of Steel and helped in the crusade to destroy the robot hoards released from Vault 0.
After destroying the robot army and the 'mind' behind all this destruction known simply as 'the Calculator', the Brotherhood of Steel began to spread throughout the Midwest with Vault 0 as their HQ. Unlike their Brothers out west however, they welcomed ghouls, super mutants, and tribals. They however integrated too much into the communities they protected, and spread themselves too thin.
Over time, most of their soldiers had moved into the towns they were stationed at, started families, and forgot about their loyalty to headquarters back at Vault 0. There was no grand final battle, no epic last stand, no graveyard full of fallen soldiers to mark the end of the Brotherhood of Steel's reign over the Midwest. They simply dissolved into the fabric of the communities spread across the vast landscapes of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois.
This is where the 4th Gammorin comes into play. Because of his uncommonly high intelligence and extreme strength and brutality, he raises to take the illustrious title as leader of the super mutants.
One of the last super mutant sterility research labs, as well as one of the last remaining squads of the 'Midwest' faction of the Brotherhood of Steel were in the outskirts of what was once St. Louis.
After a group of supermutants got restless and ended up raiding several human villages in Missouri, the Brotherhood decided to shut down all scientific operations after making a significant breakthrough in their research. They were very close to finding a cure, but if Gammorin wasn't capable of keeping a couple hundred supermutants in check, then what kind of disasters would happen if they could breed to having a couple thousand?
Gammorin was furious and waged all out war on the anemic remains of the Brotherhood of Steel. He would have destroyed every last one of them and had his hands on the research if it weren't for Paladin General Cal flying his Virtibird into the middle of Gammorin's army and escaping with what remained of the Brotherhood of Steel and the research.

Star Paladin Sierra
After the destruction of the Calculator at the battle for Vault 0, the Brotherhood of Steel rebuilds Cal, one of the remaining Calculator robots. He soon becomes a loyal companion to Betty, also know as 'The Warrior' and future leader of the Minority Faction of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Betty has a daughter named Olivia who grows up to be a very successful leader, but is more of a politician and intellectual than a warrior. She ushers the Midwest chapter of the Brotherhood into an era of peace and economic growth based around headquarters at Vault 0. The leaders back in Chicago are rather reluctant to fall in line with the new order, and after some turbulent times, they soon lose contact entirely with any outposts east of St.Louis.
Olivia has a daughter named Sierra who takes on the fiery spirit of her grandmother Betty more than her politically minded mother. Olivia is a very smart leader, but turned out to be very poor at dealing with her own daughter.
Olivia tried to shape Sierra in the image of the perfect ideal young lady and future leader of the Brotherhood. Sierra, however, was rebellious and fought her every step of the way. She wanted to be free to be whoever she wanted to be.
Cal the Robot
Cal had sworn to Betty to protect her and the generations of her family that followed. However, on her deathbed Betty tells Cal that the politician's life Olivia lives is not meant for him. She insists that Cal go out and fight for the Brotherhood like he was born to do and not stay and protect Olivia who didn't need it, as she was not a fighter. Betty however had one last request for Cal before she died.
'Don't waste your talents being the bodyguard for a politician like Olivia. Olivia is brilliant, and I am so proud of her and where she is taking the Brotherhood. But you are a warrior, you should be out there fighting to protect people. Please, Cal, I insist that you follow your own passion and don't worry about the promises you made to me all those 50 years ago. Olivia can handle her own. My granddaughter however... she is too much like me, and I know there is much trouble to come in her life if she is not guided down the right path. All I ask is that you be there for her when she calls on you.'
So when Betty left, Cal left Vault 0 to go out east to an air force base in Oklahoma City, where he lead his men in a successful victory that gained them control of a supply of unfinished Vertibirds. Cal spent the next 15 years trying to restore Vertibirds to be used by the Brotherhood of Steel.
Star Paladin Sierra
Meanwhile, back at Vault 0, Sierra continues to defy her mother and started down the path of reckless behavior and drug use. Olivia ends up sending her to a Brotherhood of Steel youth training program, which Sierra hates with a passion at first.
Eventually, Sierra defies her mother's wishes and abandons her scribe training to become a knight in training. She soon begins to excel in combat tactics and is the best sharpshooter the Brotherhood has seen since Betty.
To get away from the clutches of her overprotective mother, Sierra takes an assignment out east defending the super mutant research facility near St. Louis.
The St. Louis research lab is on the brink of a cure for curing super mutant sterility with their DNA Restoration Device.
At St.Louis, Sierra continues down her path of self destruction in her personal life, but on the battlefield she is a totally different person and quickly rises up the ranks of the Brotherhood.
Success on the battle field only temporarily hides her inner demons as she fights with depression. Sierra's reckless personal life leads to an unplanned pregnancy who she doesn't even know the father of. She loves her daughter Karen, but she fears being close to her. How can she love this girl, when she doesn't even know how to love herself. She continues to isolate herself from any close personal connections and avoids seeing her daughter as much as possible.
After defeating a super mutant disturbance in Kansas City she is awarded the illustrious rank of Star Paladin.
The Brotherhood discontinues super mutant research after the indecent in Kansas City.
Cal the Robot
Over the years the Brotherhood's power had moved from a regional to a more local scale, and the towns and villages became less and less likely to help out those outside their intimidate vicinity.
Gammorin attacks the Brotherhood bunker in St.Louis to take the super mutant sterility research by force. The Bunker is outnumbered, and calls for backup are ignored by other groups of the Midwest faction of the Brotherhood.
Only one small group of soldiers answers the distress call. Cal loads up 5 of his most loyal soldiers onto his only working Vertibird and heads to St. Louis to fulfill the promise he made to Betty, protect Sierra.
One of these 5 soldiers is Paladin Nathaniel Dekker, decedent of the General that lead the Brotherhood to victory over the Calculator.
The Vertibird is not functioning at 100% and after repeated fire from Gammorin's troops it catches fire. Cal's men bail and Cal crashes the Vertibird directly into Gammorin's main forces, barely making it out in time.
In the end, St. Louis is lost, but Cal and Nathaniel rescue a large amount of Brotherhood troops and escape to the west.
This is the first time in 15 years Cal has seen Sierra, he is introduced to her young daughter Karen, who Cal still to this day treats as if she was his very own family. Karen and Cal get along well from the very start.

With St. Louis being a total loss and no contact from HQ, they decide to travel west to the nearest safe village to regroup. Cal, Sierra, and the rest of Dagger Squad soon cross into Kansas and come across a village built around a Vault.
Vault 54
Isn't rural Kansas an odd place for a vault you ask?
Vault 54, like most other vaults, is an experiment and was never expected to actually succeed. For Vault 54 Vault-Tec wanted to see what would happen if you filled a high-tech vault with rural farmers who knew little to nothing about how computers worked. Much to the surprise of Vault-Tec, the citizens of the vault were more resourceful than expected. Through generations of knowledge of farming and living simply, the citizens created a thriving low tech community that totally ignored most of the high-tech features of the vault.
Another surprise about Vault 54 is that the overseer's daughter could not bear to part with her pets, so she secretly hid her 5 small piglets in her jacket as she entered the vault. Over time, the vault turned into an entire underground farming ecosystem with radiation free fruits, vegetables, and genetically pure pre-war pigs.
Years later the vault dwellers return to the surface and create a small farming village around the entrance to the vault.
The Reaver Movement
The Reaver Movement however has located the vault and taken over. They are not interested in the farmers, but the untapped technology lying inside the vault. As long time enemies of the Midwestern Faction, the Brotherhood is determined to rid the vault of the larger Reaver army.
Star Paladin Sierra, Paladin General Cal, and the rest of Dagger Squad were outnumbered but managed to mount a successful offensive and defeat the Reavers with very few casualties. Sierra and her skills with her power armor become a legend to the Reavers who now call her 'The Demon of Wichita'
After losing Vault 54 the Reavers continue to attack the Brotherhood in small skirmishes, but soon the two groups form a peace treaty. Dee Dee Ar Ram, a high ranking Reaver Engineer becomes good friends with Sierra and encourages even more reckless and self destructive behavior. The two almost burn down the Reaver city of Wichita during one of their parties.
Dagger Squad, however, never again hears from their headquarters, and as a result chooses to stay at Vault 54 where there is plenty of fresh food, untapped vault technology to study, and plenty of friendly people. For the next 8 years Vault 54 becomes their home.
DNA Restoration Device
Head Scribe Maria Barnakey and an ambition farmer named Teller decide to take on a project to spread fresh food to the entire wasteland and hopefully eventually restore some sort of sustainable civilization. The DNA Restoration Device that was once designed to purify the DNA so super mutants would no longer be sterile was now being used to return food sources that went extinct due to radiation. Years of research and one child later, they make a breakthrough on how to breed radiation/mutation free animals and vegetables. However, in order to distribute this breakthrough to the wasteland as a whole, they needed technology that wasn't available at Vault 54, a way to replicate DNA.
Dee Dee Ar Ram is assigned the position of Head Engineer for an exploratory Reaver group heading to a far away land called the Commonwealth. When she returns several years later, she tells Sierra about the Institute and their ability to create synthetic humans. With that kind of technology, Maria Barnakey could use the DNA Restoration Device and return hundreds of extinct species of plants and animals to the world.
Kaylee Dekker
For the first time in a long while, Star Paladin Sierra holds a somewhat stable personal life. She holds a semi-long term relationship with Nathaniel Dekker and eventually becomes pregnant with her second daughter. The feelings of vulnerability and insecurity rush back to Sierra and she implodes any bit of sustainable relationship she had. Nathaniel tries to be there for her, but when Sierra goes down that path nobody can reach her.
Sierra runs off and hides out with Dee Dee Ar Ram and gives birth to Kaylee before returning to the Brotherhood of Steel.

The 4th Gammorin
After almost 8 years of peace, word reaches Dagger Squad that super mutants are gathering again in the Midwest. Gammorin must be behind this. The village at Vault 54 was a beacon of hope showing that the human race could rebuild and live a simple peaceful existence, it was the only place Star Paladin Sierra had ever known happiness. She wasn't about to let this heaven become a war zone because of her and the Brotherhood. Knowing that Gammorin was after one thing and one things only, Star Paladin Sierra decided to take the DNA Restoration Device with her as far away from the Vault as possible.
About half of the remaining Brotherhood load up all their stuff and begin their journey out east to find this Commonwealth they had heard of. Star Paladin Sierra brings along her 2 daughters, Karen who is now 15 and training to be a scribe and Kaylee who is only 6. Maria Barnakey and Teller also bring along their 8 year old daughter.
It is a long journey, but with almost 20 Knights and Paladins armed in power armor, not many would dare to mess with Dagger Squad during their travels. That is, until Gammorin decided to once again make his presence known.
Unknown to the Brotherhood, Gammorin was expecting them when they were nearing the Boston area. Someone had tipped him off on the location they were heading. As Dagger squad was setting up camp, Gammorin lead his army to ambush and capture the Brotherhood of Steel. His weapon of choice, sleeping gas. It was important that he kept key people alive so he could enslave them and have them work on his sterility cure. However, many non essential personal were slaughtered during the attack. Holding the children hostage was a sure way to get the brilliant scientist Maria Barnakey to work for him. With the DNA Restoration Device in hand, Gammorin returned with his captives to his research facility.
Cal the Robot
When the sleeping gas was released, it had zero effect on the robot Cal. When he saw that defeat was inevitable, he escaped and went reinforcements from a group he would rather not see again. The Reaver Movement had been in the Commonwealth for several years now and had a sizable standing army. It was now up to Cal to convince Dee Dee Ar Ram to launch an attack on Gammorin so he could rescue Dagger Squad.
The price was high. Unknown to anyone else, Cal had 36 holotapes in his possession. These holotapes held the original software that made the Calculator function and would be a catastrophic weapon for anyone who could construct a computer to run them. Cal reluctantly traded them to Dee Dee in exchange for launching the attack. Cal could only hope that she never finds a way to use the software.

Dude. I've read that about three times already.
There's a lot of GOOD information. Probably need to read it again.
The story should really come alive when I start to get all the character names down.
Great work!
