So, when it comes to making mods, I think it is important to ground things in the lore of the universe you are working with. When it comes to Fallout, I wanted to work off of an area that has been relatively untapped by Bethesda so I have a good amount of room to work with.
This is why I chose Fallout Tactics as my main lore inspiration for this mod.
Fallout Tactics all takes place in the Midwest, far away from the Commonwealth. This allows me to write with a lot of freedom and not having to worry about conflicts.
Through getting to know the characters in this mod you will be introduced to the story elements of Fallout Tactics. You will learn about the factions and the characters and the events of the battle with the Calculator. Someone who has never played Fallout Tactics will pretty much be an expert on it by the time they are done talking to the characters in this mod.
Fallout Tactics Overview -
Fallout Tactics happens following the events of Fallout 1. After the player character and the Brotherhood of Steel defeat the Master's Mariposa Super Mutant army, Gammorin becomes the most powerful leader of the Super Mutants. He decides to take his followers and flee to the east.
During this time, the Brotherhood of Steel is dealing with a minority faction inside of its ranks that wants to do away with the old policies of keeping to themselves. They believe that through working with the locals they can make themselves stronger and create a better world.
The Elders decide that it is best to stick with their old isolationist ways, and to do away any possible problems with people thinking differently than themselves, they sent all the rebels out east on an airships to track down and kill Gammorin and every last Super Mutant.
When they hit an unexpected storm, the airship carrying their leader Paladin General Latham is lost and crash lands directly in Gammorin's territory. With him and his men captured, all hope for Latham and his squad is lost. In an act of desperation, Latham challenges the enormous behemoth of a Super Mutant, Gammorin to a dual to the death.
