-Unlocked soon after the player has talked to Hancock about being the Silver Shroud. You do not have to complete all of the Silver Shroud mission, as this can run parallel with the later quests in the story arch-
It was the kind of cold Boston night that would make a Protectron shiver or even the most hardened deathclaw cuddle together for warmth. The Shroud clutched his silver ascot tight around his neck to keep the cold out as he walked the desolate streets of what was once the bustling financial district of Boston. I guess even crime takes a night off when the weather turns.
'I wonder what the Mistress of Mystery is doing right now...'
the Shroud thought in the back of his mind as he gazed up at the stars shining bright as they peaked around a veil of thick clouds.
'Great Scott! Is that what I think it is?' Proclaimed the Shroud as a mysterious light appeared shining up into the night sky. 'It is! That's my sign, someone must be calling for the help of... the Silver Shroud!'
The iconic emblem of the Silver Shroud was clearly illuminated among the background of ominous clouds. It must be from some sort of powerful light source, but where? As he walked closer to the source of the signal it was apparent the message was being sent from the nearby town of Goodneighbor, the birthplace of the Shroud's hero persona and a place he often had to... take out the trash...
Goodneighbor was a town full of ghouls and other misfits, and it had a reputation for bringing in a less than desirable sort of crowd. It was the kind of place that gives you a constant itch to be looking over your shoulder. Everyone here has an agenda, and the best way to make it in a town like this is to stay off the radar and don't step on anyone's feet.
Justice, however, cannot be served while laying low, and the Shroud had made more than his fair share of enemies here. Who in a town like this would be seeking his help?
An old courthouse sits overlooking the main street, as if it were a stern parent looking over a child. It was on top of this building that the mysterious signal originated. The Shroud walked around back to a rickety old staircase, slowly making his way up to the building's roof. As he turned around the corner he could see the long cast shadow contrasting the illuminating glow of the spotlight, a man with one of those old fashioned tricorne hats that haven't been in fashion since the 1700s. There is only one man in this day and age extravagant enough to wear such a hat and build such a flashy signal, could this be John Hancock?

Hancock: Look who finally decided to show up.
Player: a. (What is this?) b. (Are you crazy?) What the hell are you doing? c. (Sarcasm) Why am I not surprised, now you're in the business of summoning super heroes from rooftops... d. (Perception) I see, you hooked up a logo to the front of this old spotlight to get a message across to me, clever. d. (Perception *fail*) I see, you are some kind of wizard.
Hancock: a and b. I was trying to get your attention. a, b, and c. It worked, didn't it? d. I knew you would get it. d. *fail* No... *facepalm*
Player: a. (Why?) So what's so important you needed to signal me? b. (Stupid) This is a big waste of time.
Hancock: b. Like I said, it worked, didn't it? If Shroud. I have an important mystery to solve and I need the Silver Shround on the case. Not Shroud. Actually, I was hoping for the Silver Shroud, but I guess you're the next best thing. I have a certain problem, a mystery of sorts. Companion Shroud. Actually, I was looking for your friend here, The Silver Shround, but you can help too if you want.
*Emma*: Who? me? Player: (Agility) Pay attention, Emma!
Hancock: Over the last few months, several of my caravans have gone missing, important shippments that keep me in business. On top of that we just disvocered an unidentified guest at the hotel dead in the middle of his room.
Player: *Interupt* (Agility) (Intelligence) So you are smelling some foul play and think the two are connected.
Hancock: (Agility) That was quick, I knew I chose you for a reason. (Intelligence) You're a smart one, exactly!
I think some sort of foul play is going on right under our noses and these are somehow connected.
Player: a. (Interested) So you want me to look into this for you? b. (Not interested) Sounds like you have your hands full then, good luck. c. (Sarcasm) What if I'm the villain responsible?
Hancock: a. I already have Nick Valentine on the case, but the people are getting spooked thinking it might be synths, and that is bad for business. With your reputation, having you on the case might calm some people down. b. So you don't want to help? c. Ha, then I want my shipments back. I couldn't care less about the dead guy if he did something to dissever it.
*Option a* Player: a. (Money) So, this is more about the money for you than the murder... why am I not surprised? Hancock: Maybe because I murdered someone without thinking twice within 15 seconds of meeting you? Player: That might be it... You're sharing in the profit, right? Hancock: Of course, of course.
b. (Caravan) So, what was this caravan carrying?
Hancock: Just your normal caravan stuff, some of this, some of that... you know...
Player: *replace pick* b. (Charisma) No, I don't know, you're holding out on me Hancock, I need the information.
Hancock: pass. Ok, ok, it was all high dollar mechanical equipment. A shipment of Mr. Handy parts from the Electrical Hobbyist Club to the General Atomics Galleria. Some more parts I ordered from a trader in DC, rare Protectron parts that never made it to Diamond City Security. Then there were a few shipments of high end weapons mods and ammunition that I was very looking forward to testing out.
c. (Murder) So what do you know about this murder?
Hancock: Other than he probably deserved it, not much. I just want to make sure this isn't going to interfere with my business.
d. (Done) Fair enough, I'll go see what I can dig up.
Hancock: What? No silly Silver Shroud voice this time? That was my favorite part...
Player: a. (No) *end conversation* b. (Speak as Shroud) Justice will be served or my name is not... The Silver Shroud! *Emma*: This sounds like a job for... The Silver Shroud! I will leave no rock un-turned, no clue un-examined! Justice will be served.
*Option b* Player: a. (I was joking) I'm just kidding, dude, you don't have to cry about it. I'll do it. b. (Money) *charisma* I guess that depends on what the pay is. c. (Busy) I'm too busy at the moment. d. (Rude) I should throw you off the top of this building for wasting my time with your silly games.
Hancock: a. *Go to Option a* b. Sure, sure, I'll give you 500 caps for the murder and 1,000 caps for the caravans. c and d. Fair enough, you know where to find me if you change your mind.

Hancock was an eccentric fellow at times, but when it came to business this ghoul didn't play around. This must be serious, the Shroud thought to himself. He walked across the poorly lit main street, a very short journey from the old courthouse to the hotel.
Once a place of luxury reserved for societies elite, the Hotel Rexford was far past its prime and now mimicked the dark and dirty city around it. The only reputation this place had left was for housing drug dealers and criminal trigger men. The Shroud was not a popular figure among these crowds and never knew what kind of danger to expect at a place like this.
As he walked through the heavy double doors the pungent smell of cigars and stale beer hit him as if it were a solid wall. The lobby was as dusty and dirty as the outside, poorly lit, and the perfect place for someone content with wallowing in their own pity and defeat. This time however, a group was gathered near the stairwell causing quite the commotion.
'The people dissever to know the truth!' shouted a familiar voice of a nosy reporter with long black hair and a red trench coat. This was Piper Wright, and no stranger to the Silver Shroud. Her instinct on finding the real story brought her into the path of the Shroud more times than he could keep track of. He was beginning to wonder if she was looking for more out of him than just a news story, but that could wait. For now his attention must stay on the mystery at hand.
'Everybody out!' yelled the raspy voice of an angry lady. This was Clair Hutchins, the manager of Hotel Rexford. 'If you are not paying for a room get out of my hotel!' Dejected, the crowd began to shuffle toward the door. 'No, not you! You're the guy Hancock sent over, right? What are you waiting for, the body is upstairs.'
Choosing to ignore the disrespectful tone Clair had given him, the Shroud turned toward the stairway.
Piper: *if Shroud* Mr. Shroud! Mr. Shroud! *not Shroud* Blue! Blue! It's me, Piper! Are you investigating the murder? are you also aware of the synths stealing from caravans in the area and the connection? Can I get a quote for...
Clair: Out!
Player: a. (Not yet) I just started working on the case, maybe when I know more. b. (I'm busy) Not right now, Piper. c. (Sarcasm) The synths are coming for us all! You better hide! d. (Come along) Piper is with me on the investigation
Clair: Fine, whatever, just take care of this mess as soon as possible so I can get back to business. Dead bodies don't pay their hotel bills.
As they walked up the stairway, Piper was almost giddy with anticipation, just waiting to pounce with another question. The Shroud simply put two fingers to his mouth in a shushing motion. Piper took the signal and didn't say a word as the excitement bottled up.

Nick: *if Shroud* Well, if it isn't the Silver Shroud, here to help me with Goodneighbor's most difficult case. *not Shroud* Ah, everyone's favorite vault dweller, what a pleasant surprise. Did you come to help me out? and our favorite reporter, Ms. Piper Wright, must be my lucky day.
Piper: Hello Nick.
*Emma*: Always here to help Mr. Detective! Nick: Just Nick is fine.
Player: a. (Investigation) So, what have you found so far? b. (Sarcasm) Nah, I'm just here to watch you do all the hard work. c. (Speak as Shroud) I am always near when crime is... uhh... here! d. (Wrong room) Sorry, wrong room, I was looking for the 'other' dead body.
Nick: b. Ha, funny, anyways... c. You don't actually have to do the voice... d. Get back here, don't leave me all the hard work. Anyways... all. Our victim looks to be a male, mid 20s and has numerous bruises and cuts all over his body.
(Perception) *Interrupt* Looks like bruises from a bare fist, and based on some of those angles it looks like he was kicked while he was down.
Nick: Good eye, I guess that rules out looking for a murder weapon.
Nick: Now, when you first look at his clothes, they seem perfectly normal, but if you look underneath he is completely wrapped in what looks to be
(Intelligence) *Interrupt* Some sort of ballistic mesh weaved into the fabric that is wrapped around critical areas for protection.
Nick: I was going to say he was all wrapped up like a mummy, but let's go with your answer.
Nick: Some sort of mummy wrappings all around his body.
Player: a. (Unusual) That's not something you see everyday. b. (Beat up here?) So, do you think he was beat to death in this very hotel room? c. (Go on) So, what else? d. (*Reavers*) That's what members of the Reaver Movement wear.
Nick: a. He was no ordinary traveler. b. do you see any blood or sign of struggle? It would take a very clean perpetrator to leave the scene like this after a bloody fist fight.
Piper: And it is obvious this room hasn't been cleaned in half a decade.
Nick: So he must have been left here.
(Medic) *Interrupt* Based on those wounds, he had to have been alive a long time after the initial trauma.
Piper: Hancock was right for sending you. Nick: Good catch.
d. Hmmm... that is an interesting turn of events if Reavers are involved. I haven't had any first hand contact, but I hear they are a dangerous bunch to mess with. If you know any Reavers you might want to ask around.
c. So anyways, I think the next step is to see how long this guy has been in Goodneighbor. How about you do down and talk to the manager while Piper and I continue looking for clues.
'It is nice to have friends like this you can count on' the Shroud thought as he walked back down the stairs to find the ever more irritated Clair.
Clair: What is it this time?
Player: a. (Length of stay?) So, how long was our mystery guest here before his untimely death? b. (Guest interaction) Have you seen the victim interact with any of the other guests? c. (Never mind) I can see you are busy. d. (Sarcasm) I just wanted to thank you for your lovely hospitality.
Clair: a. He payed up for 3 weeks when he first came here. that was 3 weeks ago. I went upstairs to tell him to pay up or get out, that's when I found him dead. b. What do I look like a bartender? It isn't my job to watch who my guests talk to... But come to think of it, he did ask me where the bar was... He said he needed to meet someone at the Third Rail. Go ask the people there, they love to gossip. c and d. Whatever.

The Shroud walked back out the door into the dark alley. It was the middle of the night, but in a town like this, bars never sleep and are always an ample supply of information. Across the way from the old hotel there was a simple unassuming door with a simple unassuming sign. This was the Third Rail, the pride of Goodneighbor.
Stepping inside the Shroud could feel the energy change. 'We're not expecting any trouble today, are we Shroud?'
A large Ghoul stood at the entrance, black fedora pulled down over his eyes and a nicely tailored tuxedo, not something you see often in the wasteland. But don't let the nice clothes full you, this ghoul was more than ready for a fight if anyone came into the Third Rail looking to cause trouble.
'Just here to ask some questions.' The ghoul just nodded as the Shroud continued on down the staircase to the basement. The soulful song of the bars prized entertainer filled the room drowning out the mumbles of the crowd. Marigold wore a bright red dress that seemed to both incredibly out of place and incredibly perfect in contrast to the dark and moody environment.
The Shroud walked directly up to the bar, where Whitechapel Charlie, a robot of the Mr. Handy variety, was happily selling drinks to customers. If anyone in this place had information, he was the place to start. Player: a. (Murder Victim) I assume you are aware of the murder that happened across the street, have you ever seen him at the Third Rail? b. (Aggressive) I want information and I want it now. Have you seen any unusual guests here lately? c. (Speak as Shroud) I have come to right the wrong of the tragedy that has come upon your fair town. Have you seen any unusual suspect in you fair establishment recently?Charlie: a. Why yes, I have seen him in here before... buying drinks! Because this is a bar. b and c. This is a bar... we sell drinks... The Shroud could take a hint, if he wanted information from this robot he was going to have to buy a drink first.Player: a. (Purified Water) b. (Beer) c. (Scotch)Charlie:a. Still on the job I see. b. Coming right up. c. Good choice sir. So there was this strange fellow by the name of Circuit who has been hanging around here the past month. I haven't seen him in about a week however, so he may very well be your victim. Mid 20s, dark brown hair, about 5 foot 10... weird mummy wrapping on his arms. Player: a. (That's him) Sounds like our victim b. (Meeting anyone) Ever seen him meet anyone? c. (Unusual behavior?) Anything weird about the way he acted?Charlie:a. Sucks to be him I guess, anything else? b. There was this lady, what you humans would call quite beautiful, what us robots would call trouble. I guess it is all relative to which head you are thinking with. There was quite a big fight between the two of them. Player: a. (Over what?) b. (Where is she?) Do you know where she went? c. (Name) Did you catch her name?Charlie:a. It sounded like something to do with money, but I wasn't really listening. b. She stormed out saying something about returning to Diamond City. He yelled back something about returning to her doormat ex. c. Nope, but if you ask around I'm sure someone here did. c. He was a shady fellow, always looked like he was up to no good... so no, nothing different from the rest of our fair patrons. The shroud finished his scotch and thanked the bartender. It was now time to see if anyone around the bar knew anything of this 'Circuit' fellow and his mysterious dame. Player: Have you met a guy named circuit or the girl he was with?Customer: Nope, never heard of him Customer: No, stop bothering me Customer: That guy was a jerk, I told Mac she disserved much better than him. Player: Mac was the girl he was with?Customer: Yes, she was a doll, a face like and angel. I tried to get her to leave that shmuck and come home with me, but she shot me down. Customer: I remember him and this girl named Mac. They were arguing about someone named Dee Dee. With a girl like that though, I'm not sure why Circuit thought he needed a girl on the side.

Nick: So, did you find anything good?
Player: a. (Mac) The victim was meeting a girl named Mac, they had a fight over money and some girl named Dee Dee, so she left of Diamond City. b. (Circuit) His name is Circuit and he has been in Goodneighbor for several weeks, hasn't been seen in about a week. c. (No) Nope, nothing good.
Nick: a. A jealous lover, that sounds like good motivation to me, I think we found suspect number 1. b. Well, at least we have a name and timeframe now.
*If you mentioned the Reavers in the conversation before*
Maybe you should ask around with the Reavers you know, see if any of them know him.
c. That's a shame. all. Anyways, I've uncovered a few interesting leads on this end,
Piper: I helped to.
Nick: Yes, Piper was a big help. First thing I found was a brochure for General Atomics Galleria and a map of how to get there
(Perception) *interrupt* Hancock mentioned a missing Caravan in that area. (Intelligence) *interrupt* Sounds like he might have been tracking one of those missing caravans Hancock was talking about.
Nick: My thoughts exactly.
Nick: I am thinking this might be the link between this fellow and Hancock's missing caravans.
The other thing I found was a crumpled up card showing which fighters he was betting on at the Combat Zone.
(Already Cleared) *Interupt* I already cleared the raiders out of Combat Zone not too long ago.
Nick: Hmmm... well there may still be some clues there if you look around hard enough.
Nick: I would say that seems like a better job for you, since the raiders in that part don't take kindly to people like me.
Piper and I can head up north and see if any of the robots working at General Atomics Galleria have seen anything. Would you mid if I borrowed your dog to do some snooping around?
Player: a.(Yes) Sure b.(No) I need him. c.(Sarcasm) He bites
Nick: a. Great b. That's fine c. Dogmeat would never bite me.
We will meet you back in Diamond City when we are done.
Player: a.(Anything else?) b.(Good plan) c.(Be careful)
Nick: a. Not at the moment, but I'll share anything new I find when I see you in Diamond City. b. Well, let's get going. c. You don't have to worry about me. Can't speak for this trouble maker though. Piper: You know me too well, Nick.
As Piper and Nick left to retrieve the Shroud's faithful canine companion, it was now time to decide which lead to investigate first. Should he hunt down the devious dame that was seen fighting with Circuit, or should he investigate the Combat Zone?
When faced with a choice between going into a dirty den of raiders or talking to a beautiful vixen, the choice was quite obvious for the Shroud. Seeing that the morning sun had just cracked over the horizon, the Shroud decided it would be best to head home and get some shut eye before heading to Diamond City.

The Green Jewel of the Commonwealth, as some called it, Diamond City was a stark contrast from the gritty streets of Goodneighbor. The Shroud could safely walk the streets of this 'city within a stadium' without worrying about the dangers lurking in the shadows. Clothing, weapons, pre-war collectables, and even haircuts were widely available in this bustling town square. Player: Have you seen a lady named Mac around?
Resident: Nope Resident: I think so, not sure if she is still around. Security Guard: I tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't give me the time of day. She was so beautiful though. Resident: Never heard of her. Resident: I'm pretty sure she is over at the Dugout. Resident: I saw here with some cowboy fellow heading over to the Dugout, he didn't look happy to see her. After making his rounds, it looked like everything pointed to the Dugout. Not a surprise really, the Dugout was the only place in Diamond City to get a place to stay or a stiff drink.
As he scanned the room, looking through the crowd of Diamond City locals and your typical wasteland travelers and traders, one figure at the end of the bar stood out to him. Long strawberry blonde hair cascading in waves down her back, bright red lipstick contrasting the icy gaze of her cold blue eyes, and that dress... an elegant black silk hugging every curve and accentuating her natural figure. This girl was definitely a sight, there was no doubt in his mind, this was the Mac he was looking for. But how did a girl like this get mixed up in such a situation?

Player: a. (Have you seen?) I'm looking for a lady named Mac. b. (Intelligence) You must be Mac, I presume. c. (Lady Killer) So, do you always drink by yourself? Mac was the name, right?
Mac: a. Well, you found her, buddy. What is it you wanted? b. Then you presume correctly, was there something that you wanted? c. I was just waiting for you to come along and buy me a drink, now where do I know you from again?
*option c* Player: a. (Buy Drink) Hey barkeep, can I get another drink for the lady? b. (Perception) Looks like you already have one. c. (Questions) I have a few questions for you.
Mac: a. Why thank you. b. Oh, silly me, I must have been distracted by those eyes of yours. c. Oh... sounds boring.
Player: a.(Goodneighbor) Have you by any chance been to Goodneighbor recently? b.(Circuit) Do you know a man by the name of Circuit? c.(No small talk) I will cut to the chase, these has been a murder and I need some information from you.
Mac: a. I might have been there a few weeks back, I stop by there from time to time. Why do you ask? b. I see the guy around, he sometimes mistakenly thinks I am his girl, silly man.
Player: *Replace Pick* a. (Anything happen?) Did anything out of the ordinary happen the last time you were there? b. (You aren't?) So you aren't his girlfriend then?
Mac: a. No, nothing I can think of. Maybe you should come with me next time and we can make something interesting happen. b. Did somebody lead you to believe he was, or are you just trying to see if I am single so you can hit on me.
*Option a* Player: a. (Argument) So you didn't have any sort of loud arguments in the Third Rail before leaving? b. (A habit?) Do you make it a habit to 'make something interesting happen' every time you travel? c. (Charisma) You are a real troublemaker, aren't you?
Mac: a. Are you implying something? b. Only when I'm traveling with someone worth making trouble with. Are you worth making trouble with? c. That depends, are you worth making trouble with?
Player: *Replace Pick* a. (Romantic Charisma) Why don't we go find out.
Mac: pass. My room is right this way. fail. Maybe later big guy.
*Option B* Player: a. (Goodneighbor) Did you see him last time you were in Goodneighbor? b. (Are you) Well, are you? c. (Romantic Charisma) It's ok, go ahead.
Mac: a. Why do you ask? b. Are you man enough for a woman like me? c. Go ahead with what?
Player: *Replace Pick* b. (Romantic Charisma) Why don't we go find out. c. (Romantic Charisma) You keep giving me those eyes like you want to kiss me. Go ahead.
Mac: pass. My room is right this way. fail. Maybe later big guy.
The more the Shroud tried to push for information, the more she pushed back with flirting. He could tell she was trying to avoid the subject, hiding something from him. He decided it was time to go a bit more direct.
Mac: c. A murder? I'm not sure what a simple little girl like me could know about that.
Player: a. (Sorry to tell you) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit was killed in Goodneighbor, I'm looking for information on the murder. b. (Circuit) We found Circuit murdered in his room at Hotel Rexford. c. (Aggressive) I know you were seen arguing with Circuit not long before he was murdered, what do you know?
Mac: Oh... that's so sad. He was a nice guy.
Player: *Pick Multiple* a.(Third rail) So what were you and Circuit arguing about at the Third Rail? b.(Enemies) Did Circuit have any enemies you knew about. c.(About Circuit?) Can you give me any information about Circuit's personal life or where he lived? d.(Where were you?) So where were you last week, how do I know you didn't kill him?
Mac: a. Oh, you heard about that... I've been having issues with my employer lately, so I was asking him to borrow some caps... I still hadn't paid him back from the last time I borrowed money from him. I kept it quiet from our employer that he was fighting at Combat Zone to make some extra money. I figured the least he could do is share some of his winnings with little ol me.
Player: *option a* a. (Dee Dee) People also heard you yelling about someone named Dee Dee. b. (Reaver) *if you know Reavers* So, you are a Reaver as well then?
Mac: a. That's Circuit's boss, I would stay away from her if I were you, she is dangerous. b. Wait... how do you know about that? I was... a Reaver... Now I'm unemployed.
Mac: b. He was talking about having trouble with this guy called 'The Mechanist' but I'm not really sure what all that was about. Maybe ask Hancock if he knows anything. c. Circuit was a missionary for the Reaver Movement, not a very good one however. Maybe someone at the Reaver Church knows him. d. I was right here in Diamond City staying with my ex-boyfriend because I had nowhere else to go.
Player: *Pick Replace* d. (Alibi) Can he vouch for the fact that you were nowhere near Goodneighbor when Circuit was murdered?
Mac: Yes, his name is Dos. He is around town somewhere, probably wearing a stupid cowboy hat and a trench coat.
Player: That's all for now, but don't leave town. I may have more questions for you.

So at this point the Shroud has several options to choose from.
- Head over to the Combat Zone and look for clues
- Ask Hancock about the Mechanist
- Ask people at the Reaver Church about Circuit. You may not have been there yet, but luckily Dos in the next option can show you.
- Confirm Mac's alibi with her ex-boyfriend Dos.
But for now, The Silver Shroud is going to look for Dos, since it is the closest objective to his current location.
So, now we are getting to a point where two paths are overlapping, and as a companion character, Dos has dialogue that falls outside of the mystery that the Shroud is currently trying to solve. Anything pertaining to the letter is only available after you have retrieved the letter in Chapter A of the plot, the same goes for anything referring to the armor that you are looking for.
If you have taken the Silver Shroud path, this will not be available for you to ask about.
If you did pick the Combat Zone path, you will find a particularly nerdy Raider at the Combat Zone. He is not hostile and will be there even after you have shot up the place.Leadfoot: Did you come to place a bet? Oh... wait... all the fighters are dead...Player: a. (Who are you?) b. (Circuit) I was wondering if you had seen a guy named Circuit around here. c. (Trade)Leadfoot:a. I'm Leadfoot, I specialize in sports analytic. I manage the betting on the fights.b. He used to be a regular around here until they realized he was part robot. We don't take kindly to those kind of folks around here. They beat him half to death and then tossed him to the curb, didn't even give him time to clear out his locker. Player: *pick replace*b. (Locker) Can I see his locker?Leadfoot:b. Sure, nothing valuable left however. It is the one right over there. Once checking the locker you find a note that says...
I will be at the Third Rail after 8:00pm every night this week. Meet me there if you want to further discuss working with the Mechanist. -Seymore-
This will send the player to the meeting with Seymore further down this page. Here

Now that lady was certainly a character, the Shroud thought to himself. She didn't give off the vibe of a cold blooded killer,r but she was definitely hiding something. The more questions he asks, the more she flirted back to try to avoid answering. It would be a good idea to check with ex-boyfriend of hers and see what he had to say.
He wasn't hard to find, long brown trench coat with more than an abundance of ammo belts draped across him. He wore a cowboy hat that sat on top of his auburn mullet, his scruffy beard made it apparent he hadn't shaved in a while.
A1.
Dos: Hello, have you come seeking advice on the Seven Windows of Heaven?
Player: *Pick Multiple* a. (Dos' Letter) Are you Dos? If so I have a letter for you. b. (I'm looking for Reavers) c. (I thought there were 8...)
d. (Mac) So, do you know this girl Mac?
Dos: a. That is what they call me. A letter for me?... Oh, it looks like it is from my ex-girlfriend that disapeared on me. Thanks for taking the time to deliver this.
Player: *Option a* a. (You don't seem upset) I would be upset if my girlfriend left me.
Dos: *Option a* a. In all honesty, I only started seeing her as a 'pity date'... She was a nice girl and all, I didn't want to break her heart, so I just kept letting her think we were a couple.
Player: *Option a* a. (No attraction?) You didn't feel any attraction toward her?
Dos: *Option a* a. I felt no flame when I kissed her, she was nice, but that was it. I'm glad she found something she is passionate about and is pursuing it. She was kindof needy and it wasn't good for her growth as a person or a servant of the Great Mainframe.
b. Well, you found one Reaver, how many more are you looking for?
c. Blasphemy! Only heretics and televangelists would teach such a message. The 8th window in incompatible with the core teachings of the Reaver Movement.
Player: *Option c* c. (Compatibility Mode?) Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode, or maybe running as an administrator?
Dos: *Option c* c. I have not heard of these teachings, we should talk more about this theory of running our faith in Compatibility Mode later on, I am sure it would be an enlightening conversation.
d. Yes, we were a couple once, now she is more just a thorn in my side. She is staying with my at the Dugout because she refuses to go back to the Reaver Church... I don't get that girl.
d. *if letter* She is my ex-girlfriend... No the one from the letter, another one of my ex-girlfriends... I don't exactly pick them well, do I?
*Option b*
Player: *Pick Multiple* a. (Take me to your leader) I have important business to discuss with whoever is in charge. b. (I'm looking for an armor) Have you seen a power armor that once belonged to the rebel faction of the Brotherhood of Steel? c. (How many are there?) I guess that depends on how many Reavers there are. d. (Circuit) Have you ever met a guy named Circuit?
Dos: *Option a* a. I don't know if that would be a good idea, she isn't in the best of moods right now. What did you need?
Player: *Option a* a. (Bad mood?) What is she in a bad mood about?
Dos: *Option a* a. Well, she is having problems with her implants... of the cyborg type, not the other type... and nobody we have at base knows how to fix them. Then on top of that, the generator back at base keeps acting up and randomly shutting off.
Player: *Option a* a. (I can help)
Dos: *Option a* a. Hmmm... you seem like a resourceful guy, I guess if you are good with machines I could let you try to help. a. (female) Hmmm... What's the worst a cute girl like you could do? I guess I can let you try. both. Just tell me when you are ready to go.
Player: *Option a* a. (I'm ready) Ok, lets go. *Dos joins you and you receive the navpoint for Reaver Base*
b. I remember an armor like that being kept in the holy sacristy. It is supposed to have special powers to bring man and computer together into a state of mechanical enlightenment. The bottom level of our church however is not accessible at the moment because of the rat problem?
Player: *Option b* b. (Rat problem?) Doesn't seem like a very big deal.
Dos: *Option b* b. Well... these are 5 foot tall cyborg labrats that can discharge enough electricity to fry your brain.
c. There are about 50 of us stationed around the Commonwealth.
Player: c. (That's a lot) Yeah... that's more than I need, can I just talk to your leader *Go to A*
d. Yes, I know Circuit, he is one of the Reaver Missionaries like myself, have you run across his path?
Player: *option d* a. (Murdered) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit has been murdered while in Goodneighbor. b. (Enemies) Do you know of any enemies that Circuit had? c. (Reaver home) So do you think it would be possible for me to talk to some of the other Reavers to get some clues on this case?
Dos: a. That's horrible news, but I honestly can't say I am overly surprised. b. He got mixed up with all kinds of wrong crowds, raider fighting dens, supermutants, chem dealers, and that one guy called The Mechanist. c. I guess I can take you there and we can ask around, I was heading back there anyways myself. Player: What about Mac? Dos: Mac... She can just deal with it, I'm sick of dealing with her drama, I need a road trip.
*Option D*
Player: a. (Reaver?) Wait, she didn't say she was a Reaver to. b. (Alibi) So she was in Diamond City the whole week? c. (What happened) What happened between you two.
Dos: a. Let me guess, she led you to believe she wasn't... Typical Mac, always misleading people, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. Sometimes I wonder what went so wrong with her. b. She was here the entire week. c. That is a long story. We have been on again and off again for years, but I finally got sick of it and started seeing a new girl. I am too sober to go over the whole story, maybe sometime when I have a cold beer in my hands I will tell you the whole story.

Heading to the Reaver Church seemed like the next logical step, but before leaving Diamond City, the Shroud first wanted to see if Piper and Nick had found anything at General Atomics Galleria. He headed down the back alley that held Valentine's Detective Agency and stepped inside the door.
Nick: if Shroud. Well if it isn't the Silver Shroud not Shroud. Glad you made it back
Player: a. (Any luck?) Did you find anything useful? b. (I found) I found out some interesting things if you are interested. c. (Sarcasm) So I assume you have solved the case by now, right?
Nick: a. Yes and no... We talked to the robots at General Atomics Galleria and they were convinces some guy called 'The Mechanist' was sneaking in during the night and kidnapping robots for his evil army. They are quite spooked, already have 3 missing robots. However, investigating the caravan reveiled something very contradictory to that story. We found he missing caravan, but it appears to have been attacked by supermutants.
Player: a. (Intelligence) But supermutants never take technology when they attack. b. (Mechanist?) This isn't the first time I have heard the name Mechanist... c. (Circuit) So no trace of Circuit being there?
Nick: *option a* a. Exactly what I was thinking. b. Seems like something we should look more into. I will ask around and go through some of my old files to see if I can pull up any relavent info. c. Nope, nothing at all.
Nick: b. I'm all ears.
Player: a. (Mac) Mac has an alini and couldn't have killed Circuit, though I still feel she is hiding something. b. (Dos) I also found a Reaver named Dos that agreed to take me to their base. c. (Reaver) Circuit was a missionary for the Reaver Movement.
Nick: a. Well, that rules out one suspect. b. Sounds like a good place to check out, but watch your back, that isn't a safe bunch to hang around c. I've heard those guys are a dangerous bunch, be careful.
Nick: c. You wish... For every answer I get, there are two more questions to chase down.

The Shroud left Nick to go about his business and headed for the town gate where Dos was patiently waiting.Dos: You ready to head on out? Player: a. (Sure) Let's go b. (Not yet) The Shrod and his new traveling companion Dos headed north from Diamond City, across the river where a boat had crashed into the bridge, and up into a much more forested area. This was taking quite a while, so the Shroud decided he should ask if they were almost there.
A2.Player: (Are we there yet?)Dos: No Player: a. (How about now?) b. (How much further?)Dos:a. No *loops*b. *armor quest* Impatient much? Why are you so eager to find this armor anyways? c. *murder mystery* Impatient much? What are you so eager to solve this murder anyways?
*Option b*
Player: *armor quest* a. (It's for a girl) A girl I know wants it back. b. (It is rare) It is worth a lot of money. c. (Mind your own business) I don't want to talk about it.
Dos: a. Ahhh... I see, she must be pretty special for you to go through this much trouble.
Player: *Option a* a. (She is) b. (I like her sister) c. (She's kindof a bitch) d. (Just a friend)
Dos: *Option a* a. I got'cha dude. If I had a nickle for every crazy thing I did for a girl... Well, I would have about seven nickles...
b. Oh, trying to impress her by helping out her sister? I did that once but it backfired and I ended up being chased by an angry Deathclaw... Long story...
c. Hmmm... Well, suit yourself... I always say, there are too many nice ladies out there to get hung up on the mean ones.
d. If that's the case, you should introduce her to your good buddy Dos. My girlfriend left me, remember?
b. Sounds interesting, are you a collector of rare technology too? The Reaver Movement is all about stuff like that, it pleases the gods. "He who repents his sins and dedicates his time to the refurbishment of the holy merchandise shall be rewarded by the great mainframe.
c. Fine, I was just trying to make small talk.
*Option C*
Player: *Murder Mystery* a. (Justice) For justice. b. (Caravans) He might be behind the disappearance of several caravans. c. (Speak as Shroud) For justice!
Dos: a. Sounds like you are a good man b. That sounds interesting, anything in particular gone missing? c. Ha ha, I like the voice
Player: *Option b* a. (Not really) b. (Machine parts) A bunch of weapon mods and pieces for robots. c. (Sarcasm) Well, one of them held the ark of the covenant.
Dos: a. Well, good luck with that. b. There have been rumors going round about a guy called The Mechanist. He goes around and steals technology from people in order to build his robot army that will someday take over the world. I always figured it was just some offshoot of the Institute rumors you always hear. c. Never heard of that, sounds like something one of those religious people would look for. *End Conversation*
The two chatted as they made their way to what would look like a totally normal pre-war church, had it not been covered by half a dozen armed guards and machine gun turrets.
'Is that a missile launching turret?' The Shroud wanted to ask, but decided to keep his mouth shut. As they approached the gate, Dos stopped the Shroud to give him a few tips on how to deal with the Reavers.A3. *When you reach the Reaver Base*Dos: Ok, this is the place. I must warn you, most Reavers are not as trusting of outsiders as I. You might want to tread lightly and not make any sudden movements. Player: *Pick Multiple*a. (Is this dangerous?)b. (Why so paranoid)c. (You trust me?)Dos: a. I thought that was a given when you asked me to take you to an armed military base... b.In the early days our leaders made a lot of mistakes and were a bit too 'forceful' about taking the technology they wanted... And by 'forceful' I mean chopping peoples heads off and burning villages. We have a lot of enemies, so it is best to remain cautious. Player: *Option b*b. (No more killing?)Dos: *Option b*b. Oh, they still kill people from time to time, just not so eagerly anymore. The Bishop can be a bit 'aggressive' at times, occasionally to the extent of offending a large portion of the Movement. c. Even though I believe in the Great Mainframe in the sky and walk the path of windows doesn't mean I don't use my own judgment to make logical decisions. The Great Mainframe would not have installed the drivers of logic in my brain if he didn't want me to use it. Player: a. (Your leader?) So what is the deal with your leader? b. (What is this place?)Dos:a. The Bishop can be a bit... well... fanatical at times. Some say it is because of her cybernetic implants failing, but I think she is just a bit crazy in the head. But if you want to get anything out of the Reavers, you better learn to deal with her first. Player: *Option a*a. (Where is she?) Where can I find this Bishop at?b. This is our church, which also happens to be a heavily armed military base. This is where all the holy artifacts are held, so security is a top priority.

Once inside the gates the Shroud could see a whole town with shops, farming, houses, and even a school.
Player: Do you know a guy named Circuit?
Reaver: No
Reaver: The name sounds familiar, but I can't remember.
Reaver: I don't know him well, he keeps to himself.
Reaver: He is always out in the wasteland on missions, maybe you should ask the Commander.
Reaver Child: Your clothes are funny.
Reaver: He's a jerk, stay away from him if you know what is good for you.
Reaver: Ask the Commander if you have any questions, I'm busy.
The Shroud decided it would be best to find this Commander and see if he had any answers. One of the Reavers pointed him to a tall muscular character with a military hat and what looked to be burn scars across the left side of his face.

Commander: You're not one of my soldiers, what are you doing inside my military camp?
Dos: I brought him here, sir, I can vouch that he is trustworthy. He just had some questions.
Commander: Very well, but there people are your responsibility, keep an eye on them.
Player: a. (Military Camp?) I thought this was the reaver Church, not a military camp. b. (Your in charge?) So are you the one in charge around here? c. (Nice place) Nice place you have here.
Commander: a. Military camp, church, there isn't really much difference to a Reaver. b. The Cardinal is in charge of this post and only answers to HQ back in Kansas. He is currently meeting with another Cardinal down south. Next in the chain of command would be Dee Dee Ar Ram, who is head of Engineering. I am in charge of the soldiers and with Dee Dee having health complications I am temporarily in charge and have to clean up her messes. c. We do our best.
Player: a. (Dee Dee) What is wrong with Dee Dee? b. (Mess?) What messes are you dealing with? c. (Mission?) What are the Reavers doing out here in Boston?
Commander: a. Most of us Reavers have cybernetic implants to bring us closer to compatibility with the great mainframe in the sky, as well as enhance out physical abilities. However, complications can arise from said implants. With Dee Dee's particular issue, nobody around here has the know how with computer processors to fix it... sigh...
Player: a. (I know someone) I know someone who can fix anything, would you like me to ask her for help?
Commander: Couldn't hurt to try, Dee Dee left quite a mess here, so getting her back would be a weight off my shoulders.
b. Dee Dee is in charge of engineering, she takes all the holy artifacts we discover and blesses them to work for our needs. The generator that runs this entire 'church' is housed inside her lab. Well.. in case you haven't noticed, none of the power is working at the moment. The only way into the lab is with voice recognition from Dee Dee, so until she is conscious again, we are without power. On top of that, I have a handful of missing people I need to go find, but I am stuck here doing Dee Dee's job...
Player: b. (Who's missing?)
Commander: Well, there is... - That crazy cowboy Dos - Dee Dee's right hand an, Circuit - One of our best missionaries, Mac - A clumsy recruit named Alt Everyone else has been accounted for.
Player: a. (Dos) he just forgot to turn his radio on, he is fine. b. (Circuit) I'm sorry to tell you, but Circuit was found dead in Goodneighbor. c. (Mac) Mac is safe in Diamond City dealing with 'personal' issues, I'm sure she will be back when she is ready. d. (Alt) He should be back any time now, I saw him collecting tech not too long ago.
Commander: a. Typical b. I can't say I'm surprised, that guy was always trouble. Dee Dee will be upset when she hears of this, he was her trusted errand boy. c. Humph... Women... I'm sure she has her reasons though, she was always such a good Reaver. Thanks for the info. d. Someone is getting latrine duty for not taking deadlines seriously. As the great prophet said, 'make haste in your processes, for the great mainframe will reward those that walk the path of overclocking.'
c. We are here to collect holy technology, in particular, free the hold relics from the hands of the infidels known as the Institute.
Player: a. (Circuit) Can you tell me anything else about Circuit, what kind of mission was he on? b. (Power Armor) I came here looking for a suit of power armor that belonged to a Brotherhood Paladin.
Commander: a. I didn't trust the guy, he was a very shady character. Dee Dee however pushed to have him promoted against my recommendations and he has been her errand boy ever since. I don't know what kind of work he was doing for her honestly.
b. Power Armor? Reavers don't use those slow piles of junk, we fight with speed, precision, and stealth. Anything like that would be stored away in Dee Dee's library... Which only Dee Dee has access to.
That was all the information the Shroud was going to be getting here. This Dee Dee character seemed to be an important piece of this puzzle however. Luckily the Shroud knew someone who could fix pretty much anything she got her hands on, cybernetics should be simple enough for a girl like her.
He thanked Dos for his assistance and started back towards Goodneighbor.

Down the street from Goodneighbor about half a block stood what was once the home of Boston's premier newspaper, the Boston Bugle. The new inhabitants of this building were good friends of the Silver Shroud.
On the outside there was nothing that told you this building was inhabited, this was by design as to not draw any unnecessary attention. However, once inside the lobby of this building there were enough barricades and turrets to defend a castle, all guarding the path to a little elevator door.
A large robot walked the lobby. It stood on four legs taller than the Shroud and had at least half a dozen guns across its head and shoulders. This was Pace. Not the smartest of robots, about the equivalent of a dog, but great for guarding an area you don't want intruders in. Pace ran up to the Shroud in excitement, they had met many times before. Pace was always happy to see a friendly face.
'Good boy', the Shroud patted Pace on the head and then moved on to the elevator where he pushed the button on a small speaker panel.
He was greeted by the agitated voice of a whiny teenage girl he had come to know.Kaylee: Who is it and what do you want? Player: a. (Be nice) Be nice Kaylee, it's only me. b. (Emma) Just let me talk to Emma. c. (Speak as Shroud) It is I, the Silver Shroud d. (Sarcasm) I was looking to borrow some manners, but it appears you are all out.Kaylee: Whatever... Hey, Emma! Your Silver Shroud friend is here to see you. Emma: Ah! Silver! Exactly who I needed to see right now. Come on up, I really need your help with a big problem. The elevator lowered and the doors opened. It was a quick trip to the roof where the Shroud stepped out into the middle of a small settlement. this wasn't your typical rooftop, there were a few small houses, crops growing outside, and pens inhabited by both brahmin and pre-war pigs. A short girl wearing big round glasses and a lavender tie came running up to the Shroud with her slightly annoyed friend dressed in all black with bright red streaks in her hair walking up behind.

Emma: We really need you help Mr. Shroud, something horrible has happened. Kaylee: Emma is getting all worked up over nothing, I think she has been listening to too many of your radio shows... Emma: How can you take this so lightly, Kaylee? We have to save him! Player: a. (Who?) Save who? b. (The point?) Can we get to the point? c. (Sarcasm) Those radio shows are a very good resource of valuable information.Emma: It's Cal, he has been kidnapped! He needs our help. Player:a. (Not possible) Not Cal, nobody can kidnap that guy. b. (You're right) We must do something, fast! c. (Who?) Who do you think did it? Emma: It was the Blue Bandit! He hacked Cal and is going to make him part of his evil robot army. Kaylee: I told her the Blue Bandit is not real and that Cal is probably off flirting with some girl or got preocupied shooting molerates out of their holes. But she never listens to me... sigh... Player: a. (The Blue Bandit?) What do you know about this Blue Bandit? b. (Where?) Where was the last place you saw Cal? c. (Let's find him) Ok, let's go look for Cal. d. (Busy) I'm too busy to look for him at the moment, I'm sure he is fine.Emma:a. The Blue Bandit has recently come to the Commonwealth and is kidnapping robots and forcing them to join his robot army to take over the world! b. He was taking a routine trip to do some trading. He always stops at Bunker Hill first, and then makes his rounds to several small settlements north of there, and then over to Covenant before heading back home. c. Ok, we should start at Bunker Hill, that is always his first stop and someone there had to have seen him. Kaylee: I guess I'll have to come along, keep you two loons out of trouble... d. Well, don't blame me when evil Cal takes over the world. The Shroud headed off for Bunker Hill with the two girls, who continued to bicker most of the way there. 'I guess it is going to be a while before I get Emma to come with me to the Reaver Church and have a look at Dee Dee... But this Blue Bandit guy seems like a pivotal character in this whole mystery, so I guess it is worth it.' the Silver Shroud thought to himself.

Bunker Hill was a settlement set up by traders for traders. Almost any bulk supply of goods being sold around he Commonwealth passed through these walls at one point or another. Tall walls surrounded the central market. A tall white obelisk, a monument to a long forgotten war, sat in the middle, now just a simple guard tower. The Shroud and the girls got a few weird looks coming through the gate, it unusual for people not part of a caravan to come to Bunker Hill.Player: Have you seen an orange robot by the name of Cal around here?Trader: No. Trader: Never heard of em. Trader: Oh, Cal, he's a cool guy, I saw him yesterday... or was it the day before. Went north from here. Trader: I know that sarcastic jerk, he left going north. Player: Have you heard of the Blue Bandit?Trader: Like from the radio show? Trader: I don't read comics. Trader: Two guys were talking about him earlier Trader: Ya, his men attacked a caravan just north of here, those guys by the obelisk were talking about it. One of the caravan guards took the time to point out two shabby looking men standing next to the obelisk.

Player: Have you heard of a man called 'The Blue Bandit'?
Trader: Oh I've heard of him alright, his goons took my entire shipment!
Player: a. (What happened?) b. (Shipment?) What goods were you carrying? c. (Where at?) Where did this happen? d. (Cal) Have you seen an orange robot? His name is Cal. Emma: He has one real big eye and his native language is sarcasm.
a. Trader: Well, we had just picked up a new shipment of supplies and were heading northwest toward Covenant. Right outside Bunker Hill we ran into a teenage girl, she needed to get to Covenant to see her sick father but was afraid to travel alone.
Guard: We couldn't just leave a sweet little girl like that to walk the wasteland alone, there is no telling what would happen to her. So we let her come with us.
Trader: Well, apparently she wasn't any safer with us, because not too long after we set out, two synth looking fellows wearing trench coats and fedoras ambushed us and took Anya, the girl I was talking about, hostage.
Guard: They said they would let her live if we let them leave with the goods and didn't follow. We couldn't let some young girl die over some stupid weapons mods and a few buckets of glue, so we let them go.
Trader: I sure hope that girl is ok... They said the Blue Bandit would be watching.
b. Trader: We had some clothing, food, medicine, and all sorts of stuff. Oddly enough, these fellows didn't want any of that or any bottlecaps. The only thing they took were some weapons mods, the head to a Protectron, and a few containers of what was called 'thermal interface material'. It just looked like glue to me...
Emma: That is used in electronic equipment to bond components to a heat sink to prevent overheating. It is quite hard to find, worth a lot of money to someone who needs to repair computers or robots.
Kaylee: Know it all...
Trader: One of the containers broke open and spilled all over the coat of the second gunman. It had quite a strong smell.
Guard: They ran off with our best Brahman, Betsy as well... So we had to carry what we could back to here on our own backs... I'm gonna miss that girl, best Brahmin I have ever had.
c. Trader: We crossed the bridge to the north of here and were heading west. It was right by that big Poseidon turbine, they were hidden on top of those cliffs where we couldn't see them and they got the jump on us.
d. Trader: That sounds exactly like the guy that was asking us questions right after it had happened, I think he had seen the whole thing and wanted to help.
Guard: I warned him about what they said about the Blue Bandit, but he went off following the synths anyways.
Trader: This Blue Bandit guy has the ability to control Institute synths, what is one robot going to be able to do against that?

It wasn't very far to get to the spot where this highway robbery occurred. There wasn't much to see, there was a cliff overlooking the road, this must have been where the bandits hid.Kaylee: This is the perfect vantage point for a tactile strike, all they had to do is sit here and wait for unsuspecting caravans to pass and then pounce. Emma: Look at this footprint over here! No one has feet shaped like that besides Cal, he must have been here following them. There were some busted boxes and supplies of lesser value scattered on the ground, the aftermath of a hasty search for a particular product.
Emma: Hey, here is a busted bottle of that thermal paste the trader was telling us about. If the gunman spilled this on his coat, he would smell like this for weeks... Kaylee: You still have that dog of yours, right? Do you think he could follow the scent? That might just lead us straight to the bandit's front door. Player: I guess it is time to head back home and get Dogmeat. Now back at the spot of the crime, the Shroud picked up a piece of the busted container and presented it to the excited mut. Dogmeat immediately picked up the scent and began to run down the street and back to the bridge they had just crossed.
He went down through the city streets, past the boat lodged in top of a building with its cooky robot captain, and down to the waterfront. Here say a row of buildings that remained remarkably close to their pre-war states. Dogmeat came to a long building with 5 large windows across the front. This was the place the perpetrators took the loot.Emma: Good puppy! Kaylee: At least someone in this group has some brains. Player: a. (Diplomacy) I am going to try to talk to them first, but be ready for my signal to move into position if things go south. b. (Guns blazing) We have the element of surprise, let's go in guns blazing and take them out.

Anya: Hey! What the hell do you think you are doing waltzing in here like you own the place. Rodney: Settle down Anya, I'm sure our new friend here has a very good reason to be visiting us today.
Hello, my name is Rodney, and my two fine companions here are Bud and Anya, Bud is the tall one.Anya: Are you calling me short?Rodney: No... just lacking in height...Player: a. (Cal) I am looking for my friend, he is a robot by the name of Cal.Kaylee: One big eye, one small eye, probably carrying a sniper rifle. Sarcastic guy, thinks he is funnier than he actually is. b. (The Blue Bandit) Do you know where I can find the Blue Bandit? c. (Institute) You guys don't look like the synths I'm used to seeing, do you work for the Institute? d. (Caravan) Where you the guys that robbed that caravan up north?Bud: a. Ya, he is working for... b. The boss is currently working on... c. We would never work for those jerks, we are... d. Well... uhhh...Rodney: Hold on one second. You're the one who came barging in here on us. Before you start asking us questions, how do we know we can trust you?Player: a. (Honest guy) I'm just a simple guy living in a nearby settlement. I'm just trying to find my friend, not looking to cause any trouble. b. (Charisma) Hey, we are all civilized business men here, no reason for distrust. We can all help each other out. c. (Lie - Circuit) I'm a friend of Circuit, he told me I could find you here. d. (Silver Shroud) I am the Silver Shroud, I seek only justice and tell only the truth.Anya: a. You sound boring...Rodney: What did I tell you about manners, Anya?Anya: If I can't say anything nice, shut my god damn mouth... Rodney: Anyways, you seem harmless enough, what was it you were here looking for? b. And what have you ever done for us?Rodney: Don't be so hasty Anya, I like the way this guy thinks, this may turn out to be a mutually beneficial meeting. So what was it you needed?c. Where the hell has that guy been? He was supposed to be meeting with the boss about the 'Gammorin' problem over a week ago and still hasn't shown.Kaylee: He has run into some... let's call it... complications... Rodney: That's regrettable, but at least he had the decency to send you to finish the job. So what was it you needed again? d. 'The' Silver Shroud? Wait till the boss hears about this, it is going to make his day.Rodney: I knew I recognized that outfit from somewhere. The boss is always happy to help out a fellow superhero, how can I be of assistance?Player: a. (Cal) I am looking for my friend, he is a robot by the name of Cal.Kaylee: One big eye, one small eye, probably carrying a sniper rifle. Sarcastic guy, thinks he is funnier than he actually is. b. (The Blue Bandit) Do you know where I can find the Blue Bandit?c. (Institute) You guys don't look like the synths I'm used to seeing, do you work for the Institute?d. (Caravan) Where you the guys that robbed that caravan up north?Rodney: a. Yes, I know the guy, he is in the back room helping us load boxes. Nice guy, though I do wish he would learn when to shut his mouth. Just right through that door over there to the left.
b. The Blue Bandit is far too busy to be in contact with people personally, being the only true super hero in the Commonwealth. I can put you into contact with his agent if you are interested in helping the cause, he may have some use for some more fleshy humans. *receive note* b. *Circuit option* You mean Circuit didn't share this information with you?Kaylee: He hasn't been in the most talkative of moods lately... You know how he accidentally leaves out important details sometimes, like where to find the guy we are supposed to meet...Bud: I know what you mean, one time I was supposed to help him clear a raider camp, but his letter never gave me the location... Then he yelled at me the next day for not helping him. I'm glad we are working with you now, he was a bit of a prick.Rodney: The Blue Bandit is far too busy to be in contact with people personally, being the only true super hero in the Commonwealth. I can put you into contact with his agent if you are interested in helping the cause, he may have some use for some more fleshy humans. *receive note*c. We had our memories wiped and were tossed out of the Institute a long time ago, now we work for the Blue Bandit, the only true hero on the side of robot kind. The Institute wants to make robots more like humans, the Blue Bandit loves all the downtrodden. Even robots, just as they are. d. And what you make you say something like that?Player: *Option a*a. (Why) Why is he here?b. (How long) How long have you known Cal?c. (Bring him with me) So you don't mind if I bring him with me?Rodney: a. Let's just say he was 'inspired' by the Blue Bandit's goals and wanted to lend a hand. b. Not very long, he just showed up recently saying he wanted to help out, so we figured we could use some boxes moved and he is a strong fellow. c. He isn't here against his will, he can come and go as he pleases. Anya: Please do, he is getting on my nerves.Bud: I think he is funny... don't mind Anya's whining. Player: *Option d*a. (I followed the trail) My dog followed the scent of the stolen good and it lead me to you. b. (Never mind) Let's talk about something else. Rodney: a. I don't know if I like what you are implying here, are you accusing us of something? I think it might be wise for you to keep your nose in your own business and not go poking it where it doesn't belong. b. *return to pick multiple*(Perception - Signal) *interrupt*
Emma begins to sneak around to the stairs at the side of the room and climb to a vantage point.Player:a. (I know) I know it was you that did it. b. (Speak as Shroud) You can not hide from the eyes of justice, the Silver Shroud is always watching! c. (Never mind) Let's talk about something else. *return to pick multiple*d. (Distract - Charisma) What makes you think that you can just go around taking hostages and stealing stuff that doesn't belong to you? Do you have no decency at all? Why don't you try getting a real job and earning your own caps so you can buy all the thermal interface material you want. Kaylee: Ya, you big jerks, what gives you the right? Rodney: a and b. And what are you going to do about it? *Rodney, Bud, and Anya attack**If you chose 'signal' but didn't chose distract*Rodney: Hey, they are trying to get the jump on us. *Rodney, Bud, and Anya attack* Rodney: *if successful charisma check*d. You don't know what it is like out there for a synth tossed out on... wait, what the hell! After successfully distracting the synths, Emma was able to sneak up the stair where she proceeded to push a large barrel down on top of the bandits knocking them out. Maybe they will want to talk more when they regain consciousness...
Rodney: Hey! what was that for? Anya: Owww... my head... you big jerks.Player: *Pick Multiple*a. (Caravan) Why did you rob that caravan? b. (Hostage) What happened to that poor girl you took hostage? c. (Betsy) The caravan guard wants his brahmin back. d. (Kill them) People like you only diverse one fate. *bang* *bang* *bang* *before choosing d, dialogue box*[This will make you permanent enemies with the Blue Bandit, would you like to continue?]
Rodney:a. We needed the supplies to help the Blue Bandit build his robot army and protect all of the oppressed kind from the hateful people of the Commonwealth.Bud: We weren't trying to hurt people, just with the Institute stirring up so much trouble it makes it tough for a robot out there to make an honest living.b. We didn't want to have to actually shoot anyone, we were just trying to trick them into handing over the goods peacefully.Anya: I was the hostage. I pretend to be a defenseless girl and gain the sympathy of caravans, so that when Bud and Rodney hold me hostage those poor schmucks will hand over the good and no one has to get shot.Player: *Pick Replace*
b. (Synth, how?) But you are a synth, how do you do that? Anya: The Institute built us with the ability to cloak so we look almost perfectly like humans. I guess we were a stepping stone on their way to making Gen 3 synths. Problem is, if we cloak for more than an hour or two we overheat, so I guess that is why the Institute tossed us.c. We just need the cow for one simple job, it won't be long now and I will bring his cow back to him.Bud: I have personally seen to it that the cow has gotten nothing but the best care. It's a nice cow, especially the head on the left. The right head is a bit more temperamental, but I think she is just nervous being in a new place. Rodney: Bud like his animals too much, he would never allow us to do anything to harm an innocent beast.Player: *Pick Replace*c. (Rental) Well, if you are going to rent his brahmin you should at least pay for it, and try asking nicely next time. Rodney: c. Rent-a-Cow... Hmmmm... Might be a good business. Anyways, here, give him these 500 caps and tell him I will have her back soon and in perfect health.

After a minor altercation with the Blue Bandit's minions, the Shroud stepped into the back room of the building where he found an orange humanoid looking robot loading boxes onto the back of a Brahmin.Cal: Hey, what's up. What are you doing hanging around here? Player: a. (Same question) I was just about to ask you the same question. b. (Come with me) You should come with me. c. (Emma) Emma was worried about you.Cal:a. I'm loading boxes, what else would I be doing in the back room of a bandit hideout with all this cargo. I have yet to teach this brahmin to load these boxes on her own back. b. I'm a bit busy right now, these boxes aren't just going to hop their own way onto the back of this pack-brahmin. c. Emma is always worried about something, that's just how she rolls. Don't pay it too much mind. all. Anyways, there are still plenty of boxes over there that need lifting, unless you just came to watch me do all the hard work. Emma: See! I told you, the Blue Bandit hacked him. Here, hit him on the back of the head with this rock and we can drag him home! Cal: Uhhh... Let's not do that whole thing with the rock, and my head... I don't even think that would knock out a robot, we aren't exactly built like that. Player: a. (Hacked) Well... Have you been hacked? b. (Why?) Why are you here? c. (Sarcasm) We could always try the rock and find out.Kaylee: I call dibs! Cal:a. Well... If had been hacked, what exactly would you expect me to say to that question? 'Oh yes, I've totally been hacked!'. You didn't really think that question through, did you? b. I've been investigating a rumor that an old enemy is still alive, so I can take measures to 'correct' that error, if you know what I mean. The Blue Bandit apparently is also not a big fan of Gammorin, so I followed these jokers back here to see what kind of information I could pick up. c. It's nice to be so loved... Emma: So you weren't hacked? I was so worried about you! Cal:Come on Emma, have you ever once been able to hack into my systems? If you can't do it, what makes you think this Blue Bandit goon can? Oh... wait... You don't even know who the Blue Bandit is yet. I wold tell you, but I want to see the look on your face when you find out firsthand. This will be epic. Anyways, don't blow my undercover phohacked scheme, I still need Gammorin's location. Player: a. (Gammorin) So why are you after this Gammorin guy? b. (Undercover) Have you found anything useful? c. (Phohacked?) You do know that isn't a real word, right? d. (That's all) That's all for now, good luck with your spying.Cal:a. Gammorin is my oldest and most hated enemy I have been fighting him for over 50 years. He killed my friends and he must die for that. Up until recent information surfaced, everyone believed he had died at the hands of the Reavers. Anyways, it is a long story, I'll tell you the whole thing when I don't have all these boxes to load. b. The Blue Bandit has been collaborating with Gammorin to steal shipments of robotic equipment. I am still trying to uncover the why and the where of the situation, so I'm going to stick around here and do some more snooping... And honestly, I kind of like the work. c. Phohacked, adj, the state of being fake hacked. If it isn't a word already it sure as hell should be. Emma: You can't just make up words like that, Cal. Cal: And who made you the kind of all things to do with words? Emma: It's called a dictionary... Cal: I am a dictionary. Emma: You are a calculator. Cal: I am a lot of things, one of which is head of box moving, which I really must get back to. Player: *Option b* *Pick Replace*b. (The work?) Why would you like this kind of work?Cal: *Option b*b. A little hard work never killed anybody... well... except for that one guy... But it hasn't killed that many people. I find that putting in a hard days work helps you focus your mind and better appreciate it when you have free time. Cal:d. Oh, and one more thing before you go. While out searching for the location of Gammorin's hideout, I ran into this guy named Duke Adams out in this settlement called BrainTree. He is setting up an army to fight Gammorin. If you could stop by and make sure his preparations are going as planned, that would be great. *Get Navpoint* Emma: Be careful Cal! Cal: What fun would that be?

It seemed like Cal had everything under control here, so now Emma could go with the Shroud to fix Dee Dee's cyborg eye. However, this new information on the Blue Bandit was just as intriguing, and it was apparent he was working with Circuit. These super mutants Cal was talking about also happened to be right near the third and final caravan Hancock had asked him to investigate. And after all that, he still hasn't had an opportunity to check out Combat Zone. Decisions... decisions... decisions...
After pondering it over, the Shroud decided to go meet with the 'agent' for the Blue Bandit. On his way out of the Rodney's den he decided to investigate each of the synths individually to see if he could get any information before meeting this agent.*Go here teambacon.boards.net/thread/56/mother-daughter?page=1&scrollTo=177 if you want to continue the story from the Reaver story arch. This will get you more direct results for the actual murder, if you are still concerned about that. Make sure you start reading where that link scrolls you to, as there is a lot of stuff before that which is part of Kaylee's quest to find her mother's power armor. For the purposes of this page, however, I am going to continue down the Blue Bandit path to the fight with the super mutant warlord Gammorin.*
Rodney: You aren't planning on dropping another barrel on my head, are you? *or*: Hey, how are things going? Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy? Rodney: a. Like my brother and sister, I am a generation 2.5 synth. We are prototypes for the more human looking synths they have now. After being tossed away by the Institute we were left homeless in a world that hates nothing more than synths. It was impossible to make an honest living, but I soon discovered I had a skill for gambling. I had quite a bit of success pulling off schemes with my two partners in crime to relieve foolish people of their caps. That was of course until I ran into the Count. Player: a. (Make a living) What does a synth need to make a living for? You don't eat food or anything... b. (The Count) Who is the Count? c. (Gambling) How did you learn to be good at gambling? Rodney: a. We still need shelter to protect us from rusting out in the rain, as well as fusion cores to keep us charged up, and all sorts of other stuff robots need. b. The Count is the head of a large crime family that spreads across half a dozen cities on the east coast. He started out on the boardwalks of Atlantic City but now controls an entire infrastructure of drugs, gambling, and prostitution all the way up to the Capital Wasteland. Boston is kind of new territory for him, he had never met a real life synth before. I slipped my way into a poker game with him, and long story short, I relieved him of a large sum of caps. He wasn't very thrilled and proceeded to try to relieve me of my head... Player: a. (Sounds dangerous) b. (What next?) What happened after that? c. (Sarcasm) I think you would look better without your head. Rodney: He would have had me if the Blue Bandit hadn't shown up and made quick work of the Count's men. My siblings and I have been working for the Blue Bandit ever since. c. Maybe my personality was formed from memories of a skilled gambler, or maybe my programming just allows me to understand the analytics of the situation. It's hard to tell. b. What is there to tell besides the obvious? He is a hero to the people, willing to do what it takes to protect the poor and mistreated of the Commonwealth from the abuse of those trying to take advantage of them. He is a skilled programmer and is building an army of robots to fight for the cause. c. Gammorin is an ancient super mutant from the West Coast, way smarter than any super mutant I have ever run across. Still just as brutal however. He enslaves people and drags them off to the glowing sea where he sometimes turns them into super mutants. He is just an all around bad guy.
Anya: Are you here to start something again? Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy? Anya: a. Unlike the standard Gen 2 Synths, the three of us were made to test new ways of making synths look truly human. We have the ability to mask as humans for a limited amount of time. The masks however overheat out components, and as a result the Institute scrapped us for newer models. The Blue Bandit however accepted us as robots and encouraged us to embrace the true beauty of our mechanical nature. b. The Blue Bandit hates anyone who mistreats the outcasts of the wasteland, even the robots. He detests the Institute and their Gen 3 synths. He believes in accepting people for who they are, and having Gen 3 synths masquerading around as humans is just sick. c. Gammorin used to be allies with the Blue Bandit. Out in the Glowing Sea he is able to dig up vast amounts of pre-war tech from a long buried factory. Gammorin would trade raw supplies in return for the Blue Bandit building him advanced medical research technology... What a super mutant warlord is doing with that much medical research technology I don't know, but it can't be good. Gammorin, however, decided to get greedy and kidnap 3 of our Many Men. The Blue Bandit would never leave his men behind to be slaves to that disgusting warlord, and we plan on fighting like hell to get them back. Thus the large robot army we are building.
Bud: Oh, hello. Player: a. (About you) So how did a synth like you end up working for the Blue Bandit? b. (The Blue Bandit) Can you tell me more about the Blue Bandit? c. (Gammorin) What do you think about this Gammorin guy? Bud: a. The Institute abandoned us because we were not human enough. The Blue Bandit taught us to be proud of being robots. Not that we hate organics or anything... I especially love animals. Have you met my cat? His name is Cheeto, he is running around here somewhere. b. The Blue Bandit protects the poor and the mistreated ghouls and the robots. We work for the Blue Bandit. c. He is a bad, bad man... well... super mutant... We plan to take him out, save our ghoul buddies he captured.

The Silver Shroud and the two girls walked through the door to the infamous Third Rail. According to Rodney, the Mechanist's agent would be there after 8:00pm.
'Are they old enough to be in here?' questioned the ghoul dressed in a sharp tuxedo at the door.
'Probably not' the Shroud replied as they continued on without hesitation. The sound of Marigold's singing once again filled the air as they walked down the long stairwell to the bar.
'She is amazing!' Emma blurted out.
'Stay focues Emma, we need to find this agent.' Kaylee looked around a bit nervously. Her sister told stories of the Third Rail all the time, but Kaylee had never been to a place like this.
'Hey pretty ladies, why don't you come have a drink with me?' This customer had obviously had one too many drinks already. 'Why don't you back off and give us some space.' Kaylee shot back, causing the man to immediately back off and returned to his table.
The Shroud walked up to the bar and ordered two waters and handed them to Kaylee and a disappointed looking Emma, who apparently was expecting something more exciting.
'I'm looking for the agent of a man called 'The Mechanist''.
Charlie, the robot behind the bar just pointed. A man in his early 20s sat at the end of the bar. Dark shaggy hair covered his eyes as he sipped his drink. He had the look of a man lost deep in thought. Beyond that nothing about his appearance or demeanor would warrant any attention to him at all, probably a plus in his line of work. It wasn't hard to imagine he could sit in a place like this for hours before anyone would even notice he was there.Seymore: ...oh, sorry, I didn't see you there. Are you here about the Blue Bandit? Emma: Seymore! Is that you? What are you doing here, I haven't seen you in ages. Seymore: Emma? Well... Ummmm... You made it pretty apparent you didn't want to see me around anymore. Now I work for the Blue Bandit. Player: a. (Know each other?) Wait, you two know each other? b. (Who are you?) So, who exactly are you? c. (The Blue Bandit) I am trying to find the Mechanist. d. (I'm Circuit) I'm Circuit, was supposed to meet with you about taking down Gammorin.Kaylee: Ya, he's Circuit. *whispers to Emma* Who is Circuit again? Emma: *whispers to Kaylee* The dead guy in the hotel, try o keep up, Kaylee. Seymore:a. Well... Kaylee: They were dating for about a year until Emma stomped on his heart and kicked him to the curb. Emma: I wouldn't exactly put it that way... Seymore: Sounds pretty accurate to me. b. My name is Seymore, I am the agent who handles all of the Blue Bandit's business matters while he is busy saving the poor and oppressed of the Wasteland. c. And why would you want to do that? d. Circuit the Reaver? You don't look much like a Reaver. *Option c*Player: a. (Work) I want to work for him. b. (Murder) I'm investigating the murder of a guy named Circuit. c. (Gammorin) I heard he wants to kill Gammorin, and so do I.Seymore: a. Well, I do have one job that requites some 'human' assistance. The Blue Bandit usually prefers robot workers because they are more reliable, but this is a special instance. It pays 500 caps, if you are interested report to Rodney at his storehouse. *Get Location* b. That's the guy Mac told me would meet with me about the 'Gammorin' problem. I guess that's why he never showed up. You don't think Gammorin killed him, do you? Player: a. (Too subtle) Too subtle to be supermutants.Emma: Supermutants aren't exactly known for quietly murdering people without leaving a trace. Someone in the hotel would have seen a 10 foot tall mutant walking the streets of Goodneighbor would draw some attention. Seymore: Thanks Emma... b. (Mac) Wait, you know Mac? c. (Gammorin problem?) What kind of problem are you having with Gammorin? Seymore:b. Of course, she was the one that first alerted me that Gammorin was going to cut me out of the deal and take my shipments to Dee Dee directly. She said Circuit would meet me with plans to attack Gammorin before he had the opportunity to betray me. c. The original deal was that Gammorin would collect the materials needed by 'whatever means necessary' and bring them to the Blue Bandit. The Blue Bandit would then build robots for Dee Dee, high end medical research equipment for Gammorin, and keep the rest as his payment. However, Mac informed me Gammorin is planning to take out robots by force and sell them directly to Dee Dee. We plan on attacking before he gets the chance. *Option c*Seymore:Well, if that is the case, we are working on a job right now to gather the supplies needed for a large scale attack. If you want to help, report to Rodney at his storehouse. *Get Location* *Option d*Player: a. (You're right) You're right, I'm not Circuit. b. (Charisma) That's the point of being undercover, to not look like who I am... Seymore:b. *pass* I guess you are right. So, what's the plan? b. *fail* You'r not fooling me... Player: a. (Make something up) Well, we are going to go to that place we talked about and meet those people so we can do that thing to get the stuff we need. b. (Sarcasm) We are going to kiss and make up. c. (You're right) You're right, I'm not Circuit.Seymore: Ok, enough games, what are you really here for? *End Conversation*

This was an interesting turn of events, finding out that Mac not only knew more than she let on, but was playing informant for the Mechanist. But for now events were pointing back to Rodney's doorstep and whatever this big job was that the Mechanist had planned. This was the next lead for the Silver Shroud. He would want to make one quick stop before leaving Goodneighbor, however. Hancock would like to know what was discovered about his caravans.
Hancock: Have you solved our little mystery yet?
Player: a. (Circuit) - I found out the murder victim was a guy named Circuit. - He was a Reaver. - He had a deal going on with the Blue Bandit. - I haven't figured out who killed him yet. b. (Caravans) I found out that you caravans were robbed by a supermutant overlord named Gammorin. I am currently working with the Blue Bandit to gain more details so we can attack his base. c. (No) Not yet.
Hancock: a. Hmmmm... This is more complex that I thought. The Blue Bandit is a dangerous guy... or robot... or whatever he is. b. Good work detective, here are your caps. Don't spend them all in one place, well, unless it is at one of my stores. Tell me when you are ready to attack this Gammorin head on, I have a new vertibird that I 'acquired' and I have been itching to try it out. This seems like just the job. c. Well, get to work buddy, the good people of Goodneighbor are counting on you.
After a short conversation the Shroud headed out, still followed by the two girls. They left Goodneighbor and headed back to the sea line from which they had just come.

Rodney: Back again so soon?
Player: a. (Help the Blue Bandit) Seymore told me to come help you on some big job. b. (More about you) I want to know more about you. c. (Sarcasm) We just missed you so much we had to come back.
Rodney: a. Well, if we are going to face Gammorin, we are going to need all of our robots activated. For this, we are going to need a lot more fusion cores, and I just so happen to know which stuck up pricks have more cores stashed away than anyone. Are you ready to pull of the crime of the century?
Player: a. (Sounds dangerous) b. (From who?) And who would we be stealing these fusion cores from? c. (I'm in) I'm down for whatever. d. (I'm busy)
Rodney: a. I live for danger b. In the basement level of Diamond City, there is a bank vault full of all sorts of food, medical supplies, caps, weapons, and most importantly fusion cores. This is how the Diamond City elite and that corrupt mayor keep their life of luxury while looking down on the hard working people of the Commonwealth. A bunch of spoiled snobs if you ask me. We are just going to take some of the excess off the top, they won't even notice it is gone. We will take the fusion cores we need and spread the food and meds to the poor. Robots don't need that junk. c. That's the spirit! d. Suit yourself.
Player: a. (You're crazy) There is no way you can pull this off. b. (Sarcasm) Ya, and I'm going to walk on the mood. c. (I'm in) Sounds like fun. d. (Maybe later)
Rodney: a and b. Wait till you hear our plan before you judge our chances. Let's go over to my map for a minute. The vault is located on the basement level of the stadium right over here *points to it on map* This is where we need to get to. The door to this vault however is not as simple as just picking a lock. The Blue Bandit has supplied me with a special safe cracking robot. Say hello Mr. Slickfingers.
Mr. Slickfingers: Hello sir, it will be a pleasure stealing things from rich pricks with you.
Rodney: But we can't just waltz Mr. Slickfingers through the front gate of Diamond City without raising attention.
Mr. Slickfingers: I'm afraid Waltzing is not within my core parameters.
Rodney: This is what we need you for.
Player: a. (Sneak him in) So you want me to sneak him in? b. (Safe cracking) They didn't teach safe cracking where I went to school. c. (Sarcasm) You want me to Waltz?
Rodney: a. Exactly There is a service door on the north side of Diamond City over here *points to map again* We need you to open it and let Mr. Slickfingers into the city without anyone noticing.
Player: a. (Simple enough) b. (Sounds hard)
Rodney: It gets harder. The door is locked with a combination lock, so you must first get the combination from Diamond City Security. This is where Anya comes in. She had been in the city doing recon work and building rapport with a particular guard. We wait until he is the only one on duty at the station, unusually around 4:00pm and then send Anya in to distract him. You sneak by and get the combination off of the computer.
Player: a. (Is that is?) b. (Getting out) How do we get out with the loot?
Rodney: a. Get the combination, let Mr. Slickfingers in the back, get to the vault. b. Bud will be bringing in the Blue Bandit hidden in the cargo of that Cow we stole... ehhh... borrowed. After he drops off the pieces of the Blue Bandit here *points to map* he will head directly to the vault to load the loot on the back of the Cow. The Blue Bandit will create the distraction while you, Anya, and Bud slip out of the city unnoticed by anyone.
Player: a. (Pieces of Blue Bandit) What do you mean by pieces? b. (Distraction?) What kind of distraction are we talking about here? c. (And you?) So what will you be doing this whole time?
Rodney: a. I don't know how it works, but the boss can disassemble and reassemble himself at will. All we have to do is smuggle the pieces into the city and he will take care of the rest. b. This is my favorite part of the plan. The Blue Bandit and his robots will pull off a fake heist of Diamond City marketplace to get all eyes and guns turned on him while we pull off the real heist unnoticed. He will bust in like a classic gangster stereotype and yell, 'hands in the air, this is a stick up!'. All people will talk about for days is the Blue Bandit's heist and they won't even notice we were in their vault. Show them one hand while you rob them blind with the other. c. I will be controlling the lights. For dramatic effect and to get the attention off of you of course.
Player: a. (When do we start) b. (It's wrong) We can't just steal from the innocent people of Diamond City.
Rodney: a. Anya is already in Diamond City, and Bud should be well on his way. The only people they are waiting for is you and me. Just meet me at the gate when you are ready to proceed. I will be in my human mask, but I should be easy enough to recognize.
'What have you got yourself into?' thought the Shroud to himself. Going through with a heist of Diamond City seemed like the exact kind of crime the Shroud prided himself on fighting. However, Rodney did have a good point that the elite of Diamond City were quite corrupt and out for only themselves.
It wouldn't be the first time the Shroud has had to work outside the lines to get a job done, and if stealing from the rich and giving to the poor was what it took to have a shot at taking down the slave driver Gammorin, then that is just what he would have to do.
Kaylee: As much as I would like to help you commit large crimes, it seems like you already have enough people for this job.
Emma: Ya, I guess stealth operations are not the best suited for large groups of people.
Kaylee: I think I am going to go check out that BrainTree settlement that Cal was telling us about earlier.
Emma: Can I come to?
Kaylee: No.
Emma: Please...
Kaylee: No.
Emma: Awww... Why not?
Kaylee: No.
Emma: That's not even an answer... Come on...
Kaylee: Just grab your things and hurry up, I don't have all day.

Walking in the front gate of Diamond City and smiling at the people felt different this time, knowing in the back of his head that he was about to pull the biggest heist in the history of their town. Rodney stood in the corner, now with a face that you couldn't even tell was not human unless you knew what you were looking for. He seemed way too calm for a guy about to pull off the crime of the century.
Rodney: I assume you are ready to go?
Player: a. (Yes) b. (Not yet) c. (I've changed my mind)
Rodney: a. Ok, it's showtime. Everyone is already in place, head over to Diamond City Security and signal Anya to start her act. The Shroud headed across town to the base of Diamond City Security. He almost didn't recognize his synth accomplice when a pretty looking young human looking lady winked at him to communicate she was going in.
Anya: I'll keep him talking, just be quiet and he won't notice you.
*Anya walks over to the security guard on duty*
Anya: Leeroy, where have you been? I've been looking for you all day.
Leeroy: You know I have work, we have gone over this before.
Anya: But I'm lonely...
Leeroy: I know, I know, I miss you too, but you know what the captain said about having non security personnel in the office.
Anya: He isn't here now, is he?
Leeroy: I guess not.
Anya: Tell me one of your exciting stories of how you defended Diamond City.
Leeroy: Well... I... I guess there was this one time when a stray dog got in the walls and scared Nat. I chased it away. Piper wrote a public special thanks to me in the next issue of Publick Occurrences. Anya: Wow, you're such a hero. What about synths? Have you ever fought a synth?
Leeroy: One time I walked around the corner and thought a synth was about to jump me so I fired... It turned out to just be one of those creepy mannequins that seem to be everywhere. I hit it square in the heart though!
Anya: Can I see your gun?
Leeroy: Sure, I guess, just don't take the safety off.
Anya: Ooo... Wow, I could take on so many Synths with this, pow! pow! pow!
Leeroy: Ok, enough, enough.
Anya: Come on, you're not any fun...
Leeroy: I'm at work right now, I don't want the captain chewing me out for giving my gun to a civilian. Maybe after work I will let you play with my other gun, if you know what I mean.
Anya: Ewww... Don't be a creeper
*Anya leaves*
Leeroy: Wait... I thought... awww...
Anya did a good job of keeping the guard talking as the Shroud picked up the numbers for the combination lock off the computer terminal. The Shroud now headed over to the large green wall at the north end of Diamond City. Only one man stood in view of the service door he had to access, this would be easy enough for the Shroud to take care of.
'Hey, I saw some kids over there writing with chalk on your wall'
'God dammit, kids today have no respect for the protection this wall has given us.'
The old man headed off in the direction the Shroud had pointed, leaving him free to open up the service door.
Mr. Slickfingers: Well hello, I hope you are ready to take the property of other people. I sure do love taking other peoples property.
Through the back alleyways they crept on their way to the door leading to the stadium basement. He just narrowly avoided the vision of one security guard, and then had to go start up a conversation with Nick Valentine to keep him from walking in the direction of the robot he was smuggling into the city. The Shroud was unsure of how Valentine would feel about this particular moral grey area the Shroud was walking in, so it was best to keep him out of the loop.
They headed down the stairs to the basement where Anya and Bud Eagerly awaited them.
Anya: It looks like there is more security than we had thought, hopefully you know how to get through these traps.
Bud: That thing shot me in the elbow...
*Insert complicated heist level to remove traps so the team can reach the vault*

The path to the vault was full of trip wires and other various traps ready to catch unsuspecting intruders. Luckily the Shroud had plenty of experience with this kind of equipment and they disabled them one by one as they worked their way down toward the vault.
Anya: Wait! There are still two guards there. We are going to have to wait till the Mechanist starts his distraction and hopefully they go to help with the commotion. We don't want any violence that leaves a trace that we were ever here.
Betsy: Mooo!
Bud: Shhh... be a good cow and sit still...
Guard 1: Did I just hear a Brahmin?
Guard 2: A Brahmin in the basement on Diamond City, that's a new one.
Boom! That must have been the Blue Bandit making his grand entrance.
Guard 1: Wow, that sounded serious, we should go check it out.
The two guards hopped on an elevator leaving the vault door unattended. Mr. Slickfingers was more than eager to get to work on the door as the rest of the group waited anxiously.
Mr. Slickfingers: This shouldn't be too tough, just a few cranks here, slide this thingy over here, oh, wait, maybe over here... Hmmn... Maybe if I cut the red wire...
Anya: Are you sure he knows how to do this?
Mr. Slickfingers: One more lever... Jackpot! Time to relieve these poor schmucks of their valuables!
The lock released and Bud pulled the vault door open. Inside the walls were lined with more valuables than they had ever imagined. All this had been hidden under Diamond City all this time while out in the Commonwealth people were starving and sick and armed with crude weaponry. There were enough guns in here to supply an entire army.
Anya: Don't get greedy, we can only carry so much on Betsy.
The Shroud grabbed the fusion cores they needed as the others loaded up on guns, food, and medicince that would be a great help to the people out in the Wasteland. After loading Betsy as much as they could, the group headed back the way they came hopeing not to run into any oposition. Apparently everyone was preoccupied with the Mechanist's show and the path out of the city was clear. While the rest of the group made their escape, the Shroud decided to hold back and watch the performance of the Mechanist and his robots.
The Blue Bandit: All you have to do is hand over the items on the list and everybody gets to walk out of here free of bullets.
The Blue Bandit: Hey, be careful with that one, that is important.
The Blue Bandit: Ok, that looks like everything, I'm glad you made the smart move and didn't try to fight my invincible robot army.
The Blue Bandit: Remember my name people of Diamond City, for I am the defender of all 'true' robots of the Commonwealth. The next time you think about mistreating a robot, the next time you make a robot do work that you should be doing, the next time you treat a robot like a second class citizen, I will be around the corner waiting for you. This was just an appetizer of the vengeance I will rain down upon you! For I am the Mechanist!
Lend me your ear! Remember my name fair citizens of Diamond City! For I am the defender of those who don't have voice nor power to defend themselves! I procure from the affluent and redistribute to the impoverished! I am the unquenching flame That burns bright in the night of injustice! So the next time you force a robot to do work you should be doing! When you run a ghoul out of town! When you destroy synths out of fear for what you don't understand! I'll be there! And when you least suspect... I will strike with my immortal Robot army of vengance! Mewhahaha! For I am The Blue Bandit!
The eloquent words of the Mechanist echoed through Diamond City as a bright orange flame erupted from the rockets on his back. A contrast of blue fireworks shot into the air around him as he lifted up into the air with his jetpack and flew off into the sky with his robot cohorts. That was certainly a site to see, he may have only made off with a few supplies, but the Mechanist really knew how to work a crowd. The Commonwealth would be talking about this for months.

The Shroud made his way back to the meeting spot at Rodney's hideout. When he arrived, the three synths and the Blue Bandit were already there counting the loot they had brought back. Mr. Slickfingers was admiring the stolen goods with as overjoyed a look a Mr. Handy Robot can have on ones face.
Anya: Well if it isn't the hero of the day. If you hadn't shown up and skillfully removed those traps we would have been screwed. I guess I was wrong about you when we first met.
Bud: I sent Betsy back to her owner now that we are done. She told me to thank you for your help.
Rodney: Looks like we've got everything we needed and more. Now we just need to decide what to do with it all.
Player: a. (Support the Blue Bandit) You can sell a lot of this stuff and then use the caps toward more robots. b. (Help the poor) We should share it with the people who need it most and show the Commonwealth that The Blue Bandit is here to help. c. (I want a cut) You should give me some more, I really put my neck out there to make this happen.
Rodney: a. You're right, I'm sure we could build a few Sentry Bots with the money we get from this stash. b. Steal from he rich and give to the poor, I like it! We can make care packages and hand them out with Blue Bandit propoganda. c. You're right, I've got some good stuff picked out just for you.
*Results later on*
Rodney: a. We really amped up our robot army with all that loot we sold. Thanks for the help. *Blue Bandit faction gets 2 Sentry Bots*
b. Those Blue Bandit Care Packages have done a wonder for our PR. People are comparing us to modern day Robin Hoods. New people and robots are joining the cause every day. *Blue Bandit faction gets 2 Protectrons, 2 Assaultrons, 2 Mr. Gutsys*
c. I hope those supplies are working out for you. *Player gets 20 stimpacks, 10 rad aways, 20 fusion cores, 500 caps, and a legendary weapon + ammo*

Cal: Well look who decided to show up.
Player: a. (What is this?) So, what exactly is going on here? b. (Where have you been?) c. (Need my help?) Is there anything I can do to help out
Cal: a. We set up this little base to organize the offensive we are mounting against Gammorin. I guess you could call it a war council of sorts. The goal is to bring together as many enemies of Gammorin as possible and wipe him off the face of the Earth.
Player: a. (Gammorin) Why does everyone hat Gammorin? b. (Defenses) What kind of defenses are we going up against? c. (Allies) Who do we have fighting with us so far? d. (Back)
Cal: a. Well, everyone has their own reasons, but the general consensus is because he is a slaver with a massive army he uses to take whatever he wants. That and the whole bit about curing super mutant sterility and killing all the humans...
b. The biggest challenge is that he is hiding deep in the Glowing Sea, so standard human troops won't be able to touch him. Then we have the giant gate that blocks the only path through the mountains. According to a runaway slave, there are two large anti-aircraft guns on the gate and a dozen or so EMP generators in the field preventing anything high-tech, like myself, from getting within 300 yards of the gate.
c. - We have the Blue Bandit and his robot army ready to storm the front gate. He apparently has designed a bomb capable of blowing the gate right open. - The super mutants from Duke's settlement will provide a good sized force for a head on attack. They also have a behemoth on their side. - The Minutemen are ready to go with their power armored troops. - The Reavers have provided a specialized attack force primarily of snipers. If they can get to a good vantage point, they will be great support. - That Hancock guy has a vertibird and a whole mob of ghouls ready to help with the assault. - That's about it.
b. I've been working... What did you think I was doing, getting a massage? I was investigating several super mutant attacks that lead me to that Duke Adams fellow. Good guy, old friend of mine. Then I went undercover to gather intel on the Blue Bandit. Now I'm helping to bring this War Council together so we can kill these ancient bastards.
c. - The Blue Bandit hates Gammorin as much as anyone. He also has a sizable robot army. If you could convince him to join our cause it would really boost our chances. - There is a super mutant named Duke Adams that is gathering the super mutants of Boston against Gammorin. You should head over to Brain Tree and get his support. - The Minutemen seem ready to help, but without power armor they wouldn't survive the trip into the Glowing Sea. Talk to Jumping Beam Taylor about getting his men properly equipped. - I know the Reavers are dangerous and all, but I am sure someone over there would hate Gammorin enough to lend us a hand. They have been fighting him as long as I have, dating back to the days of the Calculator. - Gammorin has been raiding Hancock's caravans left and right. He doesn't take kindly to people messing with his stuff. Head over to Goodneighbor and ask him if he is ready to fight back.
